Ifa dual radio cable is connected to radio port A tones can be transmitted using PTT switch C but this assumes VPU mode is not activated as this mode takes priority Depress Mode switch M twice TONES OFF will be heard Depress OR on the volume pad TONES ON Activate Tones One Quick depression of any PTT A B or C activates tones fol lowed by rapid depression of the same PTT A B or C Each depression sends out a tone on the corresponding radio Confirmation tones will he heard in the headset or speaker Tone mode is automatically disabled after 2 seconds of releasing the PTT Where normal radio voice PTT transmissions are resumed Note The WiC wireless Controller cannot be used to transmit tones To disable Tones depress M on the side of URIC and depress either OR on the volume pad until TONES OFF is heard in the menu mode 3 7 Menu 2 Mode Internal Speaker on off With this mode activated the internal speaker can be permanently disabled muting all incoming audio to the speaker To hear any radio transmissions in this mode a headset must be worn Note VPU mode cannot be activated Depress Mode switch M three times INTERNAL SPEAKER ON will be heard Depress or on the volume pad INTERNAL SPEAKER OFF will be heard Either wait 4 seconds and do no depress any controls or quickly depress the power on off button incoming radio transmissions will not be heard through
2. 5 1 Operation with URIC Mobile Telephones Connect URIC mobile telephone into radio port A or B recommend port B and fit the jack plug onto the mobile telephone accessory port Connect headset into URIC Ensure mobile is set for remote Mic Speaker operations Dial telephone number on mobile phone and make call using mobile telephone When the call is connected depress Radio PTT on URIC to talk when connected to Port B use PTT B When connected to port A use PTT A When operating with a headset duplex mobile telephone communications can be maintained whilst the PTT is depressed When operating with mobile telephone and using the internal URIC micro phone ie no headset connected The PTT must be released to hear incoming telephone messages Ie the Loudspeaker is disabled 5 2 Operation with URIC Respirator Adapter The URIC Respirator adapter is to be used in conjunction with respirators fitted with internal microphones This optimises radio speech transmissions using the internal mic within the respirator When wearing headsets with boom microphones or an In Ear Mic EarPAC the adapter will bypass the microphone on the headset but still allow incoming radio receive messages to be heard Connect Respirator Adapter into headset port on URIC Connect headset into the socket on the adapter Connect microphone wire to the respirator 5 3 Operation with Dual Radio Adapters URIC can provide dual radio connectivity when connected to radio por

7. and Wireless Controller Defcon Technologies Group Ss avox COMMUNICATIONS 2 URIC Connections Power On Off 2 1 BATTERY INSERTION POWER ON OFF Removal and Replacement Unscrew and remove battery cap Place battery into the compartment ve terminal upwards Ensure Battery ve terminal is facing the battery cap Tighten battery cap fully Switch On Off With a battery fitted ensure the battery cap is fully tightened depress and hold the power on off switch on URIC for 4 seconds The URIC is powered on and a beep will be heard in the earpiece or speaker One single AA battery provides a minimum of 40hrs continuous operation Depressing and holding down the on off switch powers down the URIC into sleep mode where a power down tone can Fig 3 Replacing the Battery be heard Storage ALWAYS remove battery when not in use and Power during storage On Off Low Battery Warning Double beeps every 2minutes denote low battery power It is recommended batteries are changed as quickly as possible For optimum use Savox recommends Duracell Copper top batteries 2 2 RADIO CONNECTION Radio Connection URIC can allow simultaneous connection of up to 3 radios when using the Dual radio Adapter One radio port is assigned as port A and the other is port B Individual radio parameters levels are identified within the radio cable to the specific second radio When Using the dual radio adapter always connect into Port A whic
8. com Leads URIC is capable of operating and interfacing with a variety of radios including Tetra P25 military HF tactical radios Mobile phones and intercoms Contact Savox for the full list of support interfaces leads Page 10 Savox Waste Disposal Of your Electronic and COMMUNICATIONS Electric Equipment The European Union s WEEE directive requires that products sold into the EU countries must have the crossed out trashbin label on the product or the package in some cases As defined by the WEEE directive this cross out trashbin label means that customers and end users in EU countries should not dispose of electronic and electrical equipment or accessories in household waster Customer or end users in EU countries should contact their local equipment supplier repre sentative or service centre for information about waster collection system in their country Warranty 1 Savox grants a 12 month guarantee for its accessories begins from the date sold to the original purchaser This warranty warrants the product will be free from defects in material or workmanship including repairs or replacement which ever is of a lower cost of equipment or parts 2 Defective products or parts should be sent to the manufacturer or to an authorised service repair centre intact i e for any products that have been opened in a service attempt by an unauthorised service repair shop or by the owner user the warranty is void Costs for transporta

13. the internal speaker in this mode In internal Speaker OFF mode a headset must be connected to hear menu controls alternatively the unit must be powered down Hold Power Down button and power up where the factory default mode is resumed INTERNAL SPEAKER ON Page 8 ee Savox COMMUNICATIONS 4 Wireless Controller WiC 4 1 General The CC630 633 4 VPX incorporates a Wireless Controller WiC to allow remote activation of the URIC PTT switches A and B More than one Wireless Controller can be affiliated to a single PTT switch 4 2 Affiliating the URIC to the Remote Wireless Controller A ffiliating any Controller to any PTT on URIC is a two stage process Stage 1 Activate Wic Pairing on the URIC Depress Mode switch M four times WiC Pairing Off will be heard Depress either or on the volume pad and toggle the controls until WiC pairing Switch A or B is selected Either PTT A or B can be paired with a WiC NOTE PTT C cannot be paired for WIC operation In affiliation mode the URIC generates pulse tones for 10 seconds denoting pairing mode After this period the URIC has timed out and is not possible to affiliate the WiC without re activation of pairing mode Stage 2 Affiliate the Remote Wireless Controller Whilst the URIC is in pairing mode Press down the button on the Remote Wireless Controller TWO TIMES to affiliate it to the selected PTT switch on the URIC Confirmation tone will be heard
14. tion are not included within the warranty 3 Damages which are caused by improper use or mishandling incorrect storage or poor transporta tion are excluded from the warranty 4 SAVOX is not liable for any damages caused by failure or the Savox product during operation Conditions 1 Notification of claims Warranty service If the purchaser discovers that the product has a proven defect in material or workmanship then written notice with an explanation of the claim shall be given promptly by the purchaser to Savox but all claims for warranty service must be made within the warranty period If after investigation by Savox determines that the reported problem was not covered by the warranty the purchaser shall pay Savox for the cost of investigating the problem and it prevailing time materials rate No repair or replacement by the purchaser of any product or part thereof shall extend the warranty period as to the entire product The specific warranty on the repaired part only shall be in effect for a period of ninety 90 days following the repair or replace ment of the part or the remaining period of the product warranty whichever is greater 2 Exclusive remedy Acceptance Purchasers exclusive remedy and Savox s sole obligation is to supply or pay for all labour necessary to repair any product found to be defective within the applica ble warranty period and to supply at no extra charge new or rebuilt replacements for defect parts If
