15. itted by Dale in lieu of a report Safe Boating Week Key Messages Wear Your Lifejacke Don t Drink and Boat t Take a Boating Skills Course Beware of Cold Water Risks Be Prepared The CPS FOUNDATION 26 Golden Gate Court Scarborough ON MIP 3A5 1 888 277 2628 also www cpsfoundation ca The CPS Foundation came into being in 1975 and since its inception has played a very important part in helping CPS ECP attain its goals Over the years the Squadrons and Districts have shown their support for the Foundation by donating funds to its programs and along with the individual members who contribute have helped the reserve fund grow to close to 900 000 This past year the Foundation was able to donate back to CPS ECP 42 000 and still keep the fund growing A complete list of the various projects the Foundation have helped fund can be found on our Website Though most funding has been for help in the Training area Membership requirements have been met and recently in commemoration of our 75th Anniversary the small flags that were distributed came with Foundation help Many changes have taken place over the years in the way CPS ECP presents its courses and serves its members and the public Keeping up with technology and developing and providing high quality materials has proven to be very costly and time consuming Our great volunteer group continues to meet the challenges but the financial demands are sometim

19. ssed There was another writing on March 25th and another student yet to sit for the exam at a later date David Burtt AP taught the Boating Essentials course so thank you David Seamanship students will be ready to write by mid April and we wish the three dedicated participants good luck Thanks to Instructors Bob Skelsey SN David s anchor Jim McKenna AP and Proctor Kathy Graham AP demo The Boat and Engine Maintenance course will soon be completed and students should be ready to write their exams in a few weeks Good luck to all students and thanks to Cdr Donny Maracle CN and Nathan Bresett for their efforts in that popular course The Boat amp RV Show was probably the biggest show yet but was less rewarding for us We helped a lot of people who had lost PCOC cards and in some cases these lost cards were from another course provider The people requesting the three day course were too few to have a class however all were contacted and provided with alternatives Thanks to the members who stopped by to say hello This winter has been a long one and may not be over yet for those down east Keep your hopes up as soon it will be lift in Let s hope the water is much softer then it is now Practice safe boating and fly the flag proudly for our Squadron s 60th Anniversary this summer Please note I m coordinating a Sailpast in September and could use some help organizing this event We d like to have at least 60 boats X an
