1. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION FOR FIXTURE 4490 298 READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS WARNING SHUT OFF THE POWER AT FUSE OR CIRCUIT BREAKER MOUNTING THE FIXTURE Shut off the power supply at the fuse box or circuit breaker box Remove the old fixture from wall Including the old cross bar 2 Carefully unpack your new fixture and lay out all the parts in a clear area Take care not to lose any small parts necessary for installation 3 Put the fabric shade F set on the fixture arm then secure with screw C and ball nut G 4 Put the glass shade l over the socket J then fix it in place with socket ring H 5 Attach the mounting plate A to the outlet box using the outlet box screws B The side of the mounting plate marked GND must face out 6 Follow the wiring instructions carefully See Fig 2 7 Attach the fixture back plate D over the mounting plate A well and secure with 4 mounting screws E 8 Install the bulb in accordance with fixture s specifications DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXMUM WATTAGE RATING OUTLET BOX SMB a SUPPLY WIRE GROUND WIRE WIRE NUT MANT NG SRE Wiring See fig 2 1 Connect the electrical wires as follows Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black HOT house wire Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white Neutral house wire Make sure all the wire nuts were secured You may wrap the connections with electric 2. al tape If your outlet box has a ground wire Green or Bare Copper connect fixture s ground wire to it Other wise attach the bare copper fixture wire to the green ground screw on the mounting plate 2 Tuck the wire connections neatly into the wall junction box Fig 2 FIXTURE WIRES BLACK OR SMOOTH gt HOUSE WIRES GROUND HOUSE BLACK WIRES HOT WHITE GREEN OR BARE NEUTRAL COPPER GROUND FABRIC SHADE F BALL NUT G m oo spaxer RING H Rs SHADE I BACK FLATE D LISTED american lighting association
