The surround or the lining wall of the fireplace must be self supporting regardless of the materials with which it is made and under no cir cumstances must it come into contact with the fireplace Furthermore the surround must be made with non flammable materials in com pliance with regulations For Gruppo Piazzetta S p A surrounds follow the instructions enclosed with the product AN Testing and lighting for first time Only a visual inspection can be made in the intermediate stage for fireplaces stoves and appliances that must be assembled or clad with brick work or require the use of cement binders In this case operation of the whole installation must be tested after all the building works direc tly connected with the LIGHTING FOR THE FIRST TIME test have been completed following the instructions given in the booklet 1 12 HOODGRILLE DT2010177 00 The hood grille has the function of allowing air to pass from inside the hood to the environment or vice versa if the Multifuoco system is installed CEILING IN FLAMMABLE MATERIAL Warm air comes out of the hood grille with the natural convection sy stem and it is therefore necessary to maintain the safety distances from flammable materials such as flammable ceilings or walls led ges beams furniture curtains etc The hood grille must be instal led at least 50cm from the ceiling and with at least 30cm safety distance to the sides For the hood grille size see the TECHNICAL DATA p

5. or also the AUTO button If the fan shuts off automatically it will start again in the same mode if the probe detects a temperature reading greater than the turn on threshold MANUAL OPERATION To start the fan in the manual operation mode proceed as follows press the ON OFF button the number of beeps emitted indicates the speed at which the fan is set set the speed desired pressing the remote control buttons lightly choosing from among four different operating speeds V1 V2 V3 V4 the fan starts immediately when the temperature detected by the probe exceeds the turn on value the type of operation commutes to the predefined automatic mode and will shut down when the probe reaches the shutdown temperature the fan in operation may be shut off at any time clicking the ON OFF button the long beep indicates the shutting down of the system If the system comes started in manual modality with cold stove and the probe does not find the necessary temperature in order to activate the automatic functioning the fan will continue to work till that the ON OFF botton will be pressed SETTING THE FAN SPEED Depending upon type of ductwork two types of speed settings can be chosen SETTING 1 for the fan kit with front or front rear outlet with a short duct factory setting for the series SETTING 2 for the fan kit with longer ductwork 56 To change from one setting to another after having turned on the fan in th

11. not exceed 8 metres 5 0 COOLING THE FAN AND THE REMOTE CONTROL BOX 072011491 00 Whenever the fan kit is placed near the stove it is important to ensure cooling of the fan through an outdoor air intake located in the area to the rear or under the stove In the absence of an air intake cooling is assured by environmental air so an opening of at least 120 cm in the lower part of the surround must be provided 55 6 0 USE DT2011493 00 After having provided power to the fan kit wait a few seconds before pressing the remote control buttons to allow the check up of the electronic boards Two types of operations can be selected with the remote control AUTOMATIC OPERATION To start the fan in the automatic mode proceed as follows Light the fire press the AUTO button the number of beeps emitted indicates the speed at which the fan is set set the speed desired pressing the remote control buttons lightly choosing from among four different operating speeds V1 V2 V3 V4 the fan starts only when the probe detects the turn on temperature the fan will shut off when the temperature detected by the probe falls below the minimum threshold the fan in operation can be turned off at any time clicking the ON OFF button the long beep signals the shutting down of the system and it will not start up even if the probe reaches the start up temperature To restart the fan it s necessary to press the ON OFF
12. outlet and the flue pipe connecting the stove to the chimney must be cleaned with a flue brush The Clean Air Act 1993 and Smoke Control Areas Under the Clean Air Act local authorities may declare the whole or part of the district of the authority to be a smoke control area It is an offence to emit smoke from a chimney of a building from a furnace or from any fixed boiler if located in a designated smoke control area It is also an offence to acquire an unauthorised fuel for use within a smoke control area unless it is used in an exempt appliance exempted from the controls which gen erally apply in the smoke control area The Secretary of State for Environment Food and Rural Affairs has powers under the Act to authorise smokeless fuels or exempt appliances for use in smoke control areas in England In Scotland and Wales this power rests with Ministers in the devolved administrations for those countries Separate legislation the Clean Air Northern Ireland Order 1981 applies in Northern Ireland Therefore it is a requirement that fuels burnt or obtained for use in smoke control areas have been authorised in Regulations and that appliances used to burn solid fuel in those areas other than authorised fuels have been exempted by an Order made and signed by the Secretary of otate or Minister in the devolved administrations Further information on requirements of the Clean Air Act can be found at http smokecontrol defra gov uk Your l
13. stage see paragraph LIGHTING e The first load should be reduced by 50 of the normal recommended amount Should smoke come out do not open the door of the stove close the combustion air dampers position let the fire go out slowly air the room before staying in it check the cause of malfunctioning A Do not extinguish the fire with water as this could damage the grate 2 Start up During this initial period of operation it is recommended to use the appliance at minimum capacity stoking the grate for at least the first day with only 50 of the logs usually indicated as normal Keep the air dampers in the operating position except for lighting see paragraph COMBUSTION AIR REGULATION This stage allows all the parts to settle down and fumes caused by paints varnishes grease or oily liquids used in manufacture to dis appear Air the room well in this initial stage This procedure must be carried out with the forced ventilation system turned off if the Multifuoco ventilation kit has been installed After this the appliance will no longer emit odours due to paint evaporation and must only be stoked up with the recommended nominal amounts 4 4 LIGHTING DT2010617 01 When lighting the fire the grate should be brought quickly to working temperature If it is done slowly condensation will inevitably form and cause blackening of the grate and the glass Put the fuel into the grate according to the metho
