1. 5mm 6 0 8 0 Nm 53 70 in Ib www sram com 95 7015 007 000 Rev C Copyright OSRAM LLC 2010 DoubleTap Integrated Brake Shifter DoubleTap Integrated Brake Shifter User Manual Pull the shifter hood cover back by hand and slide the shifter onto the handlebar Tighten the 5 mm hex clamp bolt to 6 8 N m 53 70 in Ib Select the shift cable routing that works best for your handlebar Fig 2a or 2b 2 Note There is no need to remove the three cover screws or disassemble the shifter COMPATIBILITY SRAM DoubleTap Integrated Brake Shifters are designed for use with Rear derailleurs SRAM Exact Actuation Ratio Front derailleurs SRAM Road Brakes SRAM Dual Pivot road calipers Avid BB7 and BB5 road calipers Avid Shorty cantilevers and most common road brake calipers Shifter cable high quality 1 1 mm shifting cable and 4 or 5 mm compressionless housing with non sealed end caps of maximum diameter 5 8 mm and maximum length 16 mm Brake cable high quality 1 6 mm brake cable with road style cable end and brake cable housing with ferrules TOOLS AND SUPPLIES Safety glasses Cable cutters Torque wrench Grease 3 and 5 mm hex wrenches Measure and install the shift and brake cable housing and ferrules Insert the shift cable through the shift cable housing using a pick to guide the cable Pull the shift cable snug making sure the cable end fitting is fully seated in the shifter spool

3. from the small chainring to the big chainring push the small shift paddle inward all the way To downshift from the big chainring to the small chainring push the same shift paddle mid way until you hear or feel a solid click Note To minimize chain rub in extreme gear positions the front shifter provides a front derailleur trim feature when it is in the large chain ring position To move the front derailleur to the trim position push the small shift paddle inward slightly until you hear or feel a small click REACH ADJUST The reach of the shift paddles and brake levers can be individually adjusted to better fit your hand size ADVICE Adjust the reach on the shift paddle first then adjust the brake lever until the brake lever bumper contacts the shift paddle This will ensure the brake lever does not interfere with the return action of the shift paddle To adjust the shift paddle reach push the shift paddle inboard to access the reach adjust cam Using a pick or your fingernail push the cam in and rotate it counter clockwise to move the shift paddle closer to the handlebar There are six adjustment positions To adjust the brake lever pull the shifter hood cover back by hand Using a 3 mm hex wrench turn the reach adjust bolt clockwise to move the brake lever closer to the handlebar Continue to adjust the brake lever until the brake lever bumper contacts the iil shift paddle Replace the hood cover Ensure that all

Fig 2c Insert the brake cable through the brake cable housing Pull the brake cable snug making sure the cable head is fully seated in the counter sunk hole of the cable holder Fig 2d ADVICE Red only When using the GORE RideOn cable housing system use the non nosed housing ferrules at the shifter and derailleur Use the nosed housing ferrules at the frame cable stops Do not use grease oil or any other lubricant with the GORE RideOn cable system Replace the hood cover Ensure that all of the keys in the hood cover are properly engaged with the hood body Ensure the front shifter is fully released in the easiest lowest gear and the rear shifter is in the hardest highest gear Attach the front and rear shift cables to the front and rear derailleur respectively Adjust the shifting according to your derailleur instructions 4 Attach the front and rear brake cable to the front and rear brake caliper respectively Adjust the caliper according to your brake caliper instructions CAUTION Always check the front and rear brake levers for proper operation INSTALLATION Rear Shifter To upshift to a harder higher gear push the small shift paddle inward slightly until you hear or feel a click To downshift to an easier lower gear push the same small shift paddle further inward until you hear or feel a second click You can downshift as many as three gears in one push Front Shifter To upshift

7. of the keys in the hood cover are properly engaged with the hood body CAUTION Always check the front and rear brake levers for proper operation SHIFTER CABLE CHANGE By ADVICE Leave the integrated brake shifter on the handlebar Use only new cables and housing EZ Ensure the front shifter is in the easiest gear and the rear shifter is in the hardest gear Detach the cable from the front and rear derailleurs Pull the shifter hood cover back by hand Push the shift cable out of the shifter and discard Insert the new shift cable through the shifter and shift cable housing using a pick to guide the cable Pull the shift cable snug making sure the cable end fitting is fully seated in the shifter spool Replace the hood cover Ensure that all of the keys in the hood cover are properly engaged with the hood IMPORTANT Ensure the shift cable end fitting is fully seated in the shifter spool Failure to seat the cable end fitting fully in the spool can lead to erratic shifting and may damage the shifter spool Attach the front and rear shift cables to the front and rear derailleur respectively Adjust the indexing according to the derailleur manufacturer s instructions BRAKE CABLE CHANGE ADVICE Leave the integrated brake shifter on the handlebar Use only new brake cables and housing Detach the brake cable from the brake caliper Actuate the brake lever and push the brake cable out of the brake and discard F
8. orce Rival and Apex only Apply a small amount of grease onto the counter sunk side Fig 10e and the pivot points Fig 10f of the brake cable holder Insert the new brake cable through the counter sunk hole of the cable holder and cable housing Pull the brake cable snug making sure the cable head is fully seated in the cable holder Attach the front and rear brake cable to the front and rear brake caliper respectively Adjust the caliper according to the brake caliper instructions MAINTENANCE Use only water and a mild soap to clean the integrated brake shifter Do NOT use a pressure washer Regularly inspect bolt torque You should never ride with a loose integrated brake shifter Regularly inspect components for signs of damage or fatigue Always inspect components for damage after any crash Signs of damage or fatigue include but are not limited to cracks dents deformation discoloration deep scratches or audible creaking Discontinue use and replace any parts that show signs of damage or fatigue Do not attempt to repair parts If you are unsure of the integrity of your integrated brake shifter have it inspected by your SRAM dealer SRAM LLC WARRANTY EXTENT OF LIMITED WARRANTY SRAM warrants its products to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for a period of two years after original purchase This warranty only applies to the original owner and is not transferable Claims under this warranty must
