In an infrastructure network multiple devices commu nicate via a central access point gateway router All data are sent to the access point gateway router and distributed from there il PC me PC 2 Networks Ad hoc Wireless Network In an ad hoc network the devices communicate with each other equally without an access point gateway router acting as intermediary The transmission rate in an entire ad hoc wireless network depends on the worst connection in the network The transmission rate depends on the spatial distance as well as obstacles be tween the sender and receiver such as walls or ceilings ill ill ill Hh A PC RE Setting Up Wireless Networks WLAN Three steps are required to integrate your multifunction machine into a wireless network WLAN Configure the network on your PC 2 Configure your multifunction machine for net work operation 3 Install the software Companion Surre IH with the required printer drivers on your PC after you have configured the machine AN Before you configure the multifunction ma chine the network must be set up on your PC and if applicable on all connected devices other PCs access point gateway router and must be functioning All required information for config uration of th

Media Loading Photo Paper combined with photo cartridges see chapter Troubleshoot ing Inserting Photo Cartridge 3 Crystal Image 4 Copier With your multifunction machine you can create high quality colour and black and white copies on various paper types and formats You can either copy automati cally in other words using the factory settings or you can use custom settings A o Use the image and text enhancement function Crystal Image to create quality copies in col our or black and white At the start of the copy process press the Y button to activate Crystal Image see chap ter Crystal Image Making Copies with the Factory Settings I Lay the document onto the flatbed scanner with the written side facing down see chapter Installa tion Loading Documents 2 Press one of the two E buttons copy in colour or black and white twice The copy is created Making Copies with Custom Settings I Lay the document onto the flatbed scanner with the written side facing down see chapter Installa tion Loading Documents 2 Press one of the two amp buttons copy in colour or black and white once You have the following options available 3 Use the number keypad or use 4 y to enter the desired number of copies D to and con firm with OK COPIES 1 4 You have a higher resolution available to you for copying than you have for fax transmissions Select the desired resolution with

12. 7 For Colour scan with Crystal Image If you want Crystal Image to implement the red eye reduction use 4 w to select REDUCTIOW and confirm with OK SW Z Red eye reduction is a complex process and G can take some time Confirm the query only when needed 8 The scan is created and transferred to the inserted memory card Only remove the memory card after the data transfer is complete otherwise data could be lost The file name is assigned according to the DCF Design Rule for Camera File System standard If you have not inserted a memory card if you have accessed the function via the menu for ex ample an error message appears on the display asking you to insert a memory card If the data transfer does not function it may be that your memory card is write protected Reanalysing Image Files If you make changes after the data transfer and reading of the image files e g if you add or delete photos using the PC you must read in the image files again in order to obtain the current index numbers for selecting the photos In the photo menu use 4 y to select AHAL YSE MEDIA and press OK The multifunction machine analyses the modified image files and reassigns the image numbers Removing Storage Media Never disconnect the connection between your multifunction machine and the storage medium during a data transfer or printing of a photo Wait until all print jobs are completed see chapter Saftety Instruction
