Format Disk If you have installed a new hard drive in the HOMENAS that is not formatted this utility will format the disk using FAT32 It is suggested to perform Scan Disk operations below to verify the integrity of the drive after format Sleep Time The HOMENAS supports power management This feature can determine the amount of time the hard drive has to be inactive before the HOMENAS enters sleep mode 14 4 Accessing Files from HOMENAS Windows In Windows data share locations can be accessed in two main vvays One is using the Network Neighborhood or My Network Places functions within windows and navigating to tte HOMENAS by searching for the hostname Another way is to use the Run command using the following instructions Click on the Windows Start button select Run from the menu and a dialogue box as shown will appear Type Homenas or current hostname in the field and click OR Type the name of a program folder document or O Internet resource and Windows will open it For you Open Whomenas s Cancel Browse If you change the Homenas hostname you will need to replace the word Homenas with it For example if you changed your hostname to FileServer please type FileServer instead The Windows Explorer will appear and you should be able to see all the folders that are shared under SMB Server in the HOMENAS web control interface menu
