BTP Build To Package Document describing the packaging to produce a bundle Generally it is a collection of WL PL and JIG DATA Must contain at least WL or PL Proprietary Document Version B Printed copy is for reference only 61 Glossary of Terms Bundle Each wire must belong to a bundle A bundle name is composed of a bundle base number and dash number The number of the bundle to which the wire belongs is often entered before the wire name on the SWD CAD Computer Aided Design Contact Key Code determining number and names of pins defined in Contact Configuration Library A part number has a unique contact key Contact Type Type of contact 4 options Pin Stud Socket Solder Dash Number A descriptor of a document or bundle which associates the document with effectivity Designator Each occurrence of a part in a SWD has a code name e g YP100 This is the base designator of the part This number is unique in the Product Device Type Type of device installed in bundle In HarnesSYS there are 15 options Diameter The diameter of the segment which is calculated using a fixed formula which takes into account the various types of wires that pass through the segment Document Configuration controlled document of a specific type such as SWD WL PL BTP Effectivity The effectivity of an item is the set of production units i e the subset of all the production units being manufactured to which

Opens the Delete Occurrence Window for deleting part occurrence records see Part Occurrence Window Delete Mode on page 42 Opens Part Occurrence window in Duplicate mode to create a new Part Occurrence record with similar details to an existing one Opens Part Occurrence window in Group Change mode This option allows you to define a group of occurrences and globally change particular details of all the occurrences in the group see Part Occurrence Window Group Change Option on page 49 Opens Part Occurrence window in Query mode Allows you to review the records that comply with conditions you set Allows you to add or change flight conditions for which the part is suitable see Flight Condition Information Window on page 58 Closes the menu and returns to the Workspace The Occurrence Key The Occurrence Key is a unique number supplied by the system designating a specific occurrence The number refers to a unique combination of the designator alternative part if there is one sequence and effectivity or alternatively effectivity or bundle number plus dash number In the Part Occurrence window the Occurrence Key field designated Occ Key appears at the top right of the Part Occurrence window except in Add mode Using the LOV key on its right you can display the list of part occurrences in the project The Occurrence Key is automatically assigned to an occurrence after the occurrence is added or created The

As specified in SWD Integrate Panel in Project Defaults Parts window e Bundle From SWD content the call out bundle of the part Proprietary Document Version B Printed copy is for reference only 27 Part Occurrence User Manual e Wire Diagram Base number of SWD document e System System of SWD document e Sub Sys Sub System of SWD document e Eff SWD effectivity see Handling effectivity for Part Occurrence see Handling Effectivity for Part Occurrence on page 29 The bundle number comes from the wire number appearing in the SWD its position there depending on the format control fixed for the project If a designator appears in SWDs of different bundles the call out bundle is that in the first SWD to be integrated If the bundle has been entered manually already that will be the call out bundle and will appear in the part occurrence BTP When a BTP is created a part occurrence record can be created automatically for the assembly covered by the BTP and added to the database This record is termed C A P O R Cable Assembly Part Occurrence Record and enables the entire assembly to treated as one unit with one part occurrence To create this record set the CAPOR toggle to YES in the Project Defaults Parts window See Project Defaults User Manual When the project is defined as a Child project it must have been provided with insert authorization at the time it was defined Otherwise automatic addition of C A P O

Low Load Button Electric Load of component at which condition applies 3 options High Low Blank Simultaneous Field Group of components operating together Group The buttons at the bottom of the window have their usual function Procedure for Adding or Changing Flight Conditions 1 9 In the Part Occurrence menu press the Add Change Flight Condition Data button and the Flight Condition Information Window opens as shown above Find the part occurrence for which you wish to have the flight condition information by pressing the List of Values button at the top of the window This opens the List of OCC Keys window In the List of OCC Key window select the line containing the desired occurrence Press OK and the designator and part number are displayed To add a condition click the LOV button in the central panel and the Flight Conditions List window opens Select the applicable condition If the electric load is affected by the condition select one the 3 options High Low or blank If a group of components operates with the part enter it in the Simultaneous Group field In the lines below repeat to change or add other conditions that are applicable 10 Press OK to save the changes There are 18 different conditions hard coded in HarnesSYS as can be seen in the figure below Proprietary Document Version B Printed copy is for reference only 59 Part Occurrence User Manual amp D C

Printed copy is for reference only 17 Part Occurrence User Manual 2 4 2 1 Multi bundle Parts The part occurrence record includes data on a multi bundle part a part that is connected to more than one bundle When a part is multi bundle Yes appears in the Multi Bundle Field and a LOV button is displayed on its right as shown Multi Bundle LOV Multi Figure 5 Multi bundle LOV Button When you press the LOV Multi button a read only window opens with the base numbers of the bundles to which the part is connected Bundle for Multi Bundle Find Bundle 5599 Figure 6 Window Showing Bundles Connected to Part Press OK or Cancel to close the window In this case there is no difference between OK and Cancel buttons When a part is multi bundle the call out bundle is that bundle to which the part is generally referred Multi bundles can be defined in the following ways 1 From the SWD When the SWD indicates by having wire names belonging to more than one bundle that a part is connected to several bundles the Integrate Wires identifies the multi bundle part and Yes appears automatically in the Multi bundle field At least two rows appear in the Bundle window shown above 2 Manually When a part occurrence is added manually you can select Yes using the the Multi bundle button 18 Document Version B Printed copy is for reference only Proprietary Part Occurrence Application 3 Special

17. assigning of the Occurrence key can be automatic by way of the SWD integrate process or manual by making a single change Proprietary Document Version B Printed copy is for reference only 5 Part Occurrence User Manual When one or more of the fields in the part occurrence record are changed as a result of integration the part occurrence is deleted and a new part occurrence record is added including a new part occurrence key If an Occurrence record is erased its data is erased while only the value of the occurrence key is retained and this cannot be reused 2 3 Part Occurrence Windows The Part Occurrence windows are a series of windows that enable you to perform all the Part Occurrence functions For this reason the windows contain a large number of fields allowing you to enter complete details for each part Since most of the fields appear in many of the windows they are described later see Occurrence Definition Fields on page 11 Fields only occurring in particular windows are explained when that window is described If a field that is not mandatory is left blank for all part occurrences all the functions operations and reports will work except that the particular field in the part reports will be left empty The Occurrence Record List Window contains the details of an occurrence and is accessed from the Part Occurrence Query window see Part Occurrence Window Query Option on page 55 The top line in the wind

19. matching Connector assigned to a connector via the Part Occurrence mating field Proprietary Document Version B Printed copy is for reference only 63 Glossary of Terms Multi Path A path or a part of a path which includes more then one alternative configuration for routing wires Null Path The default path if there is no correlation between segments and wires If there are several alternative routing options at a node and there is not enough information to define the path the null path should be the longest one Parts List PL List of parts contain in a specific version of a bundle Path Is a collection of continuous branch segments for routing wires There may be single path or several parallel paths between two segments Plug A device which by insertion to a receptacle establishes contact Plug Program Number PPN The PPN Plug Program Number of a part is a key determining the order in which wires should be attached to the pins of the part The key has 3 fields major sub and degree Private File A file generally a report that is produced by a HarnesSYS transaction stored in user s private directory and only available to the user initiating the process Production Unit The unit being designed or manufactured e g an aircraft Protective Device A lamination protecting the bundle wires such as boot sleeving conduit or spiral wrap Receptacle A contact device connected to a power supply an
