5. al Basic Installation and Setup Hardware Provided Each transmitter kit contains the transmitter keypad an Instruction booklet an antenna a name panel and one 10VAC 1 5A power adapter Installation Procedure The following is the basic installation procedure Y CAUTION Do not connect any other devices to the keypad The keypad requires a separate power supply Mounting the keypad antenna near any large metal objects will degrade the operating range A NOTE The keypad should be charging whenever not in use 1 Unwrap all transmitter components 2 Locate the silver connector in the top of the keypad Twist the antenna about 3 long onto con nector 3 Plug the power supply into standard 110V outlet and the barrel connector end into either of the side holes on the transmitter gt Press hold for 5 seconds and release the power reset button located on the side of the trans mitter unit The keypad display will light 5 Within 5 10 seconds the display light will disappear signifying the transmitter is charging the screen will be blank 6 Upon completion of setup allow the transmitter to fully charge for at least 12 hours before use Be sure that pagers are also full charged Antenna gt Keypad Functions Before using the keypad read the following key descriptions Function Keys The function keys are located on the last row of the transmit ter keypad PGR Used when entering page

7. e NiMH Battery life of pager Approximately 48 hours dependant on usage Recharge time 12 hours mini mum from completely dead Long Range Systems 6 T9550 LCKG User Manual Troubleshooting Transmitter Unit Keypad Display Does Not Light When A Key Is Pressed Begin a battery charge procedure page 5 and check after 30 minutes If the unit still is blank check the charging power by substituting it with the charging supply used for the pagers If the supply is good call LRS If the supply is bad replacements are sometimes available at local electronics stores The min imum requirement is 10VAC 1000mA Display Is Okay But the Pager Does Not Receive the Page e Do a system reset If the page still doesn t work check the Restaurant ID see page 5 e Call LRS Pagers Pager Charge Lights Do Not Come On 1 When placed in charger do all pagers have a single red charge light lit up If no pagers have a charge light skip to 2 If only some pagers have a charge light that is lit skip to 3 If all pagers have the charge light lit up then skip to 4 or 5 2 You have probably blown the power supply 3 Please remember that only 30 pagers can be on one 10V power supply If you have more than 30 pagers you should either purchase another 10V power supply call Long Range Systems gt You probably have a jumper wire that is not connected Look on the side of your chargers and ver ify all w
8. g functions change or reset the keypad to from factory defaults Setting the Pager Response Mode How long a pager will vibrate and flash when paged can be set To test the mode page a pager and ensure the pager flashes the amount of time set To set 1 second flash vibrate press Prog 9 2 1 Enter 30 second flash vibrate press Prog 9 2 2 Enter 5 minute second flash vibrate default press Prog 9 2 3 Enter Long Range Systems 4 T9550 LCKG User Manual Maintenance Functions Battery Charge If the battery is completely discharged perform the following procedure Plug in the charging unit After one minute press and release the reset button on the side of the keypad Note that the light on the display goes out within 10 seconds Allow the keypad to charge at least 12 hours e Reset and check the battery level Range Test To determine the effective range of the T95xx enable the range test function e Press Prog 9 1 2 Enter e When the 0 begins scrolling across the screen pagers not on chargers will vibrate 1 time every 5 seconds as long as they are receiving the signal e Take a pager and walk around the area to verify the pagers operate in all areas Reset If the keypad has been completely discharged it may require a reset before operating properly To reset the keypad to factory default press Prog 0 0 0 Enter Note that Restaurant ID and vibration mode will be reset with this function and m
