GSM MOBILE ALARM Sensor alarm with alerts straight to your phone www gsmactivate co uk G m ACTIVATE MOBILE ALARM Page 1 Product Information Our GSM Mobile Alarm is a standalone small portable unit which can be deployed in your Rooms Workshops Sheds Boats Caravans and endless other places where you need to safeguard the security of you your family and belongings Our units are made in the UK but with quadband GSM frequency the units can be used all over the world there is no installation or programming required you simply place a 2g simcard into the unit plug it in power supply and antenna are included and it is ready to be used The alarm has a built in program which monitors the simcard and keeps it alive so you never have to worry about the simcard and unit being deactivated The unit has an internal PIR sensor which works most effectively over 5 Metres 16 Feet When the sensor is triggered it will use the internal GSM technology to send you a text message or phone call straight to your mobile phone or landline so you know straight away if there is a problem you should be aware about Once you have received an alert message or call you can then dial into your unit and access the unit s microphone to listen in to what is happening and then reactivate the unit or leave it in standby mode GSM Frequency Quad band freq 850 900 1800 1900 MHz Power Supply Voltage 12 vdc 1Amp max Current used in standby mode 2
4. et the alarm use the same method as activating the alarm either by the set clear button or by texting ON Microphone To listen in to the surrounding area of the mobile alarm you can dial in by calling the units simcard number this will go straight through to the microphone and you will hear any activity that is occuring this is useful to identify false alarms Switch Off To switch off the alarm press the set clear button when it is in alarm mode or send a text OFF Signal Strength To help make sure that you place the unit in a suitable position You can text the unit to see how much signal strength you have by texting SS this will indicate the signal strength you will receive a text telling you if it s GOOD AVERAGE POOR We strongly recommend that you place the unit where you can get at least average signal strength You will find that with a poor signal it will be unreliable and is not suitable Text Acknowledgements You get text acknowledgements every time the alarm is switched on or off these will say Alarm On or Alarm Off It may take a time to send or receive a text acknowledgement this depends upon how busy your telephone network is at the time Page 6 Typical application Workshops Offices Bedrooms Sheds Caravans Mobile Homes Boats Hotel Rooms Quick reference Send Text Operation Acknowledgment ON Turn Alarm on Alarm on OFF Turn Alarm off Alarm off SS Check signal strength Good Ave
5. flash and you will hear two beep sounds this tells you that the unit has found a mobile signal and is ready for programming 2 The mobile alarm now needs to be programmed with up to two numbers these numbers will be used to contact you if your alarm is activated We do this by sending a text to the simcard number follow the example below Hash Star number star 1 01798865555 Now send to the simcard number 2 07748435555 Now send to the simcard number You can only text one at a time If you wish to cancel a number send a text as follows 1 orifis for number 2 then 2 You are now ready to activate the alarm You can activate the unit two ways 1 Press the set clear button once pressed the blue alarm on light start to flash for 45 seconds this is to give you time to leave the area before the alarm becomes set 2 You can also activate by sending a text message ON this has the same effect as pressing the set clear button After 45 seconds you will hear the unit beep and that is confirmation it is now alarmed Any movements in the room from now on will trigger the alarm and send out text phone alerts Page 5 Walk Test reen light The green walk test light will illuminate when the sensor detects movement so you can test the sensitivity before you set the alarm What to do when alarm is activated reset When the alarm has been triggered it will send you a call or text and then return to standby mode To res
6. ng the back cover plate 2 Place the simcard into the simcard Holder please look at the picture above and follow the instructions Note please make sure that you have turned off voice mail on your simcard ref to page 3 3 Now we need to set the Dipswitch 1 amp 2 Dipswitch 1 This is for the Alarm sensitivity if you turn the switch on this will increase the sensitivity this may detect small animals so we recommend that you leave Dipswitch one in the off position Dipswitch 2 You can select to receive a text call or phone call when the alarm has been activated If you turn Dipswitch 2 ON you will receive a text message saying alarm activated If you turn Dipswitch 2 OFF you will receive a phone call you do not need to answer this call as it will automatically hang up after it has made six ring tones this will prevent any call charges being made to your simcard 4 Refit the back cover using the four corner screws 5 Place the alarm in a suitable place It is important to place the mobile alarm away from direct sunlight or close to radiator as this may cause false alarms 6 Connect the power supply to the power input socket 7 Connect the antenna to the screw terminal placing the antenna as high as possible Page 4 How to program the Mobile Alarm 1 Turn on the power to the mobile alarm you will see the red standby light come on after a short period of time approximately 20 to 50 seconds the red light will start to
