OFF switch down the light in the switch will illuminate The kettle will heat up SWITCHING OFF When the water boils the kettle will switch itself off and the light in the switch will go out To switch off manually lift the ON OFF switch or lift the kettle from the base and replace it The ON OFF switch will pop up automatically Switch off the wall power outlet and remove the plug from the socket GENERAL Remove the kettle from the base before pouring To avoid the risk of splashing pour slowly and do not over tilt the kettle Do not tilt the kettle backwards as water may seep into the control area If this happens empty any remaining water and allow the kettle to dry before further use sit it aside in a warm dry location for at least 12 hours When you lift the kettle you may see moisture on the base This is the steam used to switch the kettle off automatically which then condenses and escapes via vents under the kettle This is normal USING WITH INSUFFICIENT WATER Using the kettle with insufficient water will shorten the life of the element If the kettle is accidently switched on when it does not contain sufficient water a boil dry cut out will switch the kettle off Sit the kettle on a stable heat resistant surface until it has fully cooled down Do not fill the kettle with water until it is cold or it may spit CARE AND MAINTENANCE Check that the kettle is switched off by lifting the kettle from the

20. rowning control to the highest setting 6 Now operate the toaster by pressing down the bread carriage lever until it locks into place This process will cure the new elements and burn off any dust residues etc which may have accumulated on the elements The new elements may give off an odour and a small amount of vapour whilst burning in this is normal The toaster will shut itself off after a few minutes It is now ready for toasting POSITIONING Position your toaster on a firm level heat resistant surface clear of curtains drapes and other combustible materials Do not place the toaster on or near items that may become damaged even by moderate sources of heat Shorten the power cord by wrapping the excess cord around the clips underneath the toaster TOASTING BREAD Plug the power cord into the wall power outlet and switch it on Set the browning control to the desired level 1 to6 3 Place the bread into the toasting slots Operate the toaster by pressing the bread carriage lever down until it locks into place lt will not lock down unless the toaster is connected to the electricity supply The toaster will cook the toast for a period of time according to the position of the browning control When done the toast will pop up and the elements will switch off Switch off the wall power outlet and remove the plug from the socket Note Bread may burn so always monitor the cooking process EJECT CANCEL To stop
