PXI 1011 Chassis User Manual The way that you determine the PCI Bus Number depends on your operating system e Win22 operating systems with a Device Manager utility such as Windows 2000 98 95 After you have installed the PXI DAQ or DMM module in the rightmost slot in the PXI 1011 chassis open your Device Manager Utility which you can usually find in System Properties You should see an entry for Data Acquisition Devices Expand this entry and you should find the PXI DAQ module which you installed in slot 4 Right click this device and select Properties Go to the tab labeled NI DAQ Information Here you find the appropriate PCI Bus Number to enter into your pxisys ini file e Operating systems without a Device Manager utility such as Windows NT After you have installed the PXI DAQ or DMM module in the rightmost slot in the PXI 1011chassis you can determine the proper PCI Bus Number from a log file generated by your MXI 3 optimization software Search your system for a file called mxi3 10g After running the MXI 3 optimization software this text file contains both the PCI bus number and the PCI device number for the DAQ card in the last slot of the PXI 1011 chassis These numbers should be entered into the pxisys ini file under the information for slot 4 You can confirm that your pxisys ini fileis correct by adding the PXI 1011 chassis in MAX With the PXI DAQ or DMM module in the rightmost slot right click Devices and Interfaces
