7. 58 50 GB Using the Sound Effect Da amp ap This system provides you with 2 types of sound effect simply by pressing a button Choose the sound to suit your needs NIGHT MODE BASS LEVEL Press NIGHT MODE or BASS LEVEL on the remote The sound effect is activated E NIGHT MODE In this mode you can enjoy sound effects or dialogue in a movie as you would a movie theatre even at low volume It is useful for watching movies at night E BASS LEVEL With BASS LEVEL on bass frequencies are effectively reinforced Each time you press BASS LEVEL the bass level changes in the following sequence BASS OFF gt BASS 1 BASS 2 gt BASS OFF To turn off the sound effect Press NIGHT MODE on the remote again or BASS LEVEL on the remote repeatedly until BASS OFF appears in the front panel display Notes e The NIGHT MODE function is activated only when the input stream is Dolby Digital format When you connect the headphones to the system the BASS LEVEL function does not work e When playing back a Super Audio CD only the BASS LEVEL function works and the NIGHT MODE function does not work Tip You can activate these two sound effects at the same time Using Various Additional Functions Changing the Angles aD If various angles multi angles for a scene are recorded on a DVD you can change the viewing angle For example while playing a scene of a train in motion y

13. 7398 Additional Information Troubleshooting If you experience any of the following difficulties while using the system use this troubleshooting guide to help remedy the problem before requesting repairs Should any problem persist consult your nearest Sony dealer Power The power is not turned on e Check that the AC power cord is connected securely If the STANDBY indicator flashes Immediately unplug the power cord and check the following items e Are the and speaker cords short circuited Are you using only the specified speakers e Is anything blocking the ventilation holes on the top of the system After checking the above items and fixing any problems connect the power cord again and turn on the system If the indicator still flashes or if the cause of the problem cannot be found even after checking all the above items consult your nearest Sony dealer Picture There is no picture e The video connecting cords are not connected securely The video connecting cords are damaged The system is not connected to the correct TV input jack page 20 The video input on the TV is not set so that you can view pictures from the system You have set COMPONENT OUT in SCREEN SETUP to PROGRESSIVE even though your TV cannot accept the signal in progressive format In this case set the SCAN SELECT switch to INTERLACE Even if your TV is compatible with progressive for
