3. by reverse rotation of the drum This may happen several times before the unbalance disappears and normal spinning can re sume If after 10 minutes the laundry is still not evenly distributed in the drum the machine will not spin In this case redistribute the load manually and select the spin programme e Redistribute the laundry The load is too small e Add more items redistribute the load manually and then select the spinning programme The machine is fitted with a type of motor which makes an unusual noise compared with other traditional motors This new motor en sures a softer start and more even distribution of the laundry in the drum when spinning as well as increased stability of the machine Machines based on modern technology operate very economically using very little water without affecting performance electrolux 25 Possible cause Solution Unsatisfactory drying re sults The laundry was too wet because it had not be spun or wrung enough e Do another drying cycle Too much items have been put on the board or they have been put one upon another e Dry the items separately spreading them out completely and without covering one with another If you are unable to identify or solve the prob lem contact our service centre Before tele phoning make a note of the model serial number and purchase date of your machine the Service Centre will require this informa tion Technical data Dimen

7. possible however with somewhat reduced cleaning results 2 If using liquid detergents a programme without PREWASH must be selected Care and cleaning Warning You must disconnect the Descaling appliance from the electricity supply The water we use normally contains lime It before you can carry out any cleaning or js a good idea to periodically use a water maintenance work softening powder in the machine Do this separately from any laundry washing and according to the softening powder manufac turer s instructions This will help to prevent the formation of lime deposits After each wash Leave the door open for a while This helps to prevent mould and stagnant smells form ing inside the appliance Keeping the door open after a wash will also help to preserve the door seal Maintenance wash With the use of low temperature washes it is possible to get a build up of residues inside the drum We recommend that a maintenance wash be performed on a regular basis To run a maintenance wash e The drum should be empty of laundry e Select the hottest cotton wash pro gramme e Use a normal measure of detergent must be a powder with biological properties External cleaning Clean the exterior cabinet of the appliance with soap and water only and then dry thor oughly Important Do not use methylated spirits solvents or similar products to clean the cabinet Cleaning the dispenser drawer The detergent dis
8. tions on each garment label Do not overload the appliance See the Washing Programme Table Before washing ensure that all pockets are empty and buttons and zips are fas tened Avoid washing frayed or torn arti cles and treat stains such as paint ink rust and grass before washing Under wired bras must NOT be machine washed Garments which have been in contact with volatile petroleum products should not be machine washed If volatile cleaning fluids are used care should be taken to ensure that the fluid is removed from the garment before placing in the machine electrolux 3 e Never pull the power supply cable to re move the plug from the socket always take hold of the plug itself e Never use the appliance if the power sup ply cable the control panel the working surface or the base are damaged so that the inside of the washing machine is ac cessible Child safety e This appliance is not intended for use by person including children with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or in struction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety The packaging components e g plastic film polystyrene can be dangerous to chil dren danger of suffocation Keep them out of children s reach Keep all detergents in a safe place out of children s reach Make sure that children or pets do not clim

14. chine will not perform the new selected programme Select the temperature by pressing button 2 By selecting a programme the appliance proposes automatically a default tempera ture electrolux 9 Press this button repeatedly to increase or decrease the temperature if you want your laundry to be washed at a different temper ature Reduce the spin speed by pressing button 3 By selecting a programme the appliance proposes automatically the maximum spin speed provided for that programme Press button 3 repeatedly to change the spin speed if you want your laundry to be spun at a different speed The relevant light illumi nates Select the available option by pressing buttons 3 4 and 5 Depending on the selected programme dif ferent functions can be combined before pressing the button 8 By selecting an option the relevant pilot light illuminates If an incorrect option is selected the integra ted red pilot light of the button 8 flashes 3 times and the Err message appears on the display for few seconds For compatibility among the washing programmes and the options see chap ter Washing Programmes Select the Delay Start by pressing button 6 Before you start the programme if you wish to delay the start press the button 6 repeat edly to select the desired delay The relevant pilot light goes on The selected delay time value up to 20 hours will appear on the display a few sec onds then the durat

17. e Incorrect option selection If an option which is not compatible with the set wash programme is selected the message Err is displayed at the bottom of the display for a few seconds and the in tegrated red light of button 8 start flashing e End of programme When the programme has finished three flashing zeros are displayed the pilot light 9 and the pilot light of button 8 go out and the door can be opened 7 2 Washing programme phase icons Wash LI Rinses Drain Ly Spin O By selecting the wash programme the pro gramme phase icons corresponding to the various phases making up the programme are shown in the bottom part of the display After having pressed button 8 only the icon of the running phase stays on 7 3 Heating phase During the washing cycle the display shows a temperature icon indicating that the appli ance has started the heating phase of the water in the tub 7 4 Soil degree icons When selecting a programme on the display appears an icon indicating the degree of soil ing automatically proposed by the machine Intensive e Normal Daily ef Light Quick T Super Quick T 7 5 Child safety lock This device permits you to leave the appli ance unattended during it s functioning 8 electrolux First use e Ensure that the electrical and water connections comply with the installa tion instructions e Remove the polystyrene block and any material from the drum e Pour 2 liters of
18. e filter in the hose with a stiff brush 4 Screw the hose back onto the tap Emergency emptying out If the water is not discharged proceed as follows to empty out the machine 1 pull out the plug from the power socket 2 close the water tap 3 if necessary wait until the water has cooled down 4 open the pump door 5 place a bowl on the floor Remove the emergency emptying cap from the filter The water should drain by gravity into the bowl When the bowl is full refit the cap into the filter Empty the bowl Repeat the procedure until water stops flowing out 6 clean the pump if necessary as previously described 7 screw the pump again and close the door Frost precautions If the machine is installed in a place where the temperature could drop below O C proceed as follows 1 Pull out the plug from the power socket 2 Turn off the water tap 3 Unscrew the inlet hose 4 Place the end of the inlet hose in a bowl placed on the floor open the emergency emptying cup of the filter and let water drain out 5 Refit the emergency emptying cap into the filter and screw the water inlet hose back 6 When you intend to start the machine up again make sure that the room temper ature is above 0 C Important Every time you drain the water through the emergency emptying hose you must pour 2 litres of water into the main wash compartment of the detergent drawer and then run the drain programme This
19. e programme can be delayed from 30 min 60 min 90 min 2 hours and then by 1 hour up to a maximum of 20 hours by means of this button Start Pause This button allows you to start or to interrupt the selected programme Time Manager These buttons allows you to modify the pro gramme duration automatically proposed by the appliance Door locked pilot light The pilot light 9 illuminates when the pro gramme starts and indicates if the door can be opened e light on the door cannot be opened The machine in working or has stopped with water left in the tub e light off the door can be opened The pro gramme is finished or the water has been emptied out e light flashing the door is opening Display electrolux 7 The display shows the following information 7 1 e Duration of the selected programme After selecting a programme the duration is displayed in hours and minutes for ex ample 2 05 The duration is calculated automatically on the basis of the maximum recommended load for each type of fabric After the programme has started the time remaining is updated every minute e Delayed start The Selected delay set by pressing the rel evant button appears on the display for a few seconds then the duration of the se lected programme is displayed again e Alarm codes In the event of operating problems some alarm codes can be displayed for example E20 see paragraph What to do if
