Push to Test button to verify that the power cells are fully charged see figure 8 2 4 Under a full charge the Capacity Meter will show a single green LED See Section 4 7 for more details TI5400A 400Hz GPU 24 UAV ACDC 39 amp Unit Care and Maintenance Checking DC Voltage at DC Output Receptacle Pins These tests are only necessary if the DVAM Digital Volt Amp Meter is not operational NOTE Before making a voltage measurement the DC Output ON Button needs to be turned on This will close the contactor and connect the power cells to the DC Output Receptacle Next set your digital multimeter to measure dc voltage Place the red lead of the multimeter on the positive post of the DC Output Connector marked with the symbol see figure 8 2 16 Next place the black lead on the negative post of the DC Output Connector marked with the symbol The multimeter display should read approximately 28 80 Vdc 0 05 Vdc while running on ac power with power cells fully charged see Figure 8 2 17 The multimeter display should read approximately 23 to 26 Vdc without ac power If unit is left charging after the batteries are fully charged the unit will enter a standby mode The voltage will drop from 28 80 to 28 26 volts When a load greater than 2 amps is applied the unit will return to normal operation Figure 8 2 16 Measuring voltage on DC Figure 8 2 17 Multimeter reading typical Output Receptacle power cell volt

8. 5 and one fan will activate The unit is now ready for normal operation NOTE If the unit is not fully charged after 30 minutes the power cells may need to be replaced Return the unit to Tesla for evaluation and maintenance 115400 400Hz GPU 24 UAV ACDC Section 6 Operating Procedures 6 1 Operating Overview The T115400A 400Hz GPU 24 UAV ACDC has three primary functions that will be discussed in this section 1 Providing 30 25 Vdc continuous regulated output power 2 powering aircraft systems and 3 power conversion via a convenient 120 Vac power outlet Step by step instructions will be given for performing each function 6 2 Regulated 28 5 Vdc Output Power WARNING WARNING The 400 Hz AC Input Circuit Breaker located on the top box of the GPU s front panel underneath a weatherproof cover see Figure 4 10 1 serves as the On Off Switch for the 400 Hz AC Input When activated it provides power to the GPU but does not have any effect on the 400 Hz 200 Y 115 Vac Output Filter To disconnect power from the 400 Hz AC Output refer to Section 4 15 under 400 Hz AC Output Circuit Breaker Checking Unit Charge State Press the Push to Test button and check the Charge Status Meter see figure 6 2 1 Only the green OK section of the Charge Status Meter should be lit See figure 6 2 2 signifying a minimum of 80 of full charge If the yellow or red sections of the charge status meter are lit the unit wil
