User Manual for USSD based Application for MCTS Initial Version MCTS Team 23 04 2014 2 Delivery Abortion details updating and MCTS Team 23 06 2014 Provision for service updating for different mother child in same or different financial year in a session What is USSD Version MCTS Team 23 04 2014 USSD Unstructured Supplementary Service Data is a Global System for Mobile GSM communication technology that is used to send text between a mobile phone and an application program in the network Applications may include prepaid roaming or mobile chatting USSD messages are up to 160 alphanumeric characters in length in English and about 70 characters in Hindi or any other regional language Unlike Short Message Service SMS messages USSD messages create a real time connection during a USSD session The interactive connection remains open for about 3 minutes allowing for two way exchange of data This makes USSD more responsive and interactive than services that use SMS Important I nstructions v At present this USSD Application is applicable for Airtel BSNL IDEA TATA GSM Mobile Numbers only v USSD Application is independent of Type of Handset and Mobile Operating Systems like Android Windows etc v This application is available to the validated Mobile Numbers of ANM ASHA registered on MCTS portal v User need not to pay any cost for using this USSD application Ministry of Health amp Family Welfare Governmen
