3. a Gon thane weer 5 Greeting Open flip to answer Seroren Any key Access point settings to answer Connections PC Connection cm 10 1 Getting Started 1 1 Insert the U SIM Card The U SIM card UMTS Subscriber Interface Module is the small plastic smart card with gold contacts It holds account and contact information and can be used to store text messages It can be moved between different phones if re quired Open the back cover using the thumb notch at the base of the handset Insert the U SIM card Insert the U SIM card as shown with the gold contacts facing down Carefully slide it under the bar observing the correct orientation E 5 A 7 1 2 Insert the battery 1 Insert the battery with the contacts located against the gold springs 2 Press the battery down flush into the case 3 Line the battery cover up correctly and push gently to close 1 3 Switch the phone On or Off Press and hold the red key 1 for two seconds to switch the phone ON or OFF The home screen will be displayed after a few moments 1 4 Charge your phone Only use the AC charger and USB lead supplied Insert the charger lead carefully Check the plug and socket are aligned Do NOT use excessive force which may damage the USB port Be careful to avoid tripping or pulling on the lead whilst it is plugged in Damage to the USB port is NOT covered by warranty The p

11. hone can also be charged by con necting it to a computer using the USB lead supplied The phone can be charged in the ON or OFF state If the phone is off after charging press End Key to switch it back on 14 1 5 Tips to maximise battery life Do not leave the battery in a discharged state Charge the battery promptly when flat If the battery is in a deep discharge state it can take up to 30 minutes to start charging Leave it on charge to recover the battery Keep your handset and battery cool High temperatures degrade the battery more quickly The battery will not charge when over 45 C Normal charge time is 3 4 hours Do not leave on charge for more than 24hrs After 2 3 charge discharge cycles the battery life will improve From then on use top up charging to recharge frequently and always charge promptly when flat When not using the phone for long periods charge to approx 40 and re move the battery With poor network conditions less than 2 bars battery life is reduced Turn off Bluetooth when not in use to extend battery life 1 6 How dol set the time and date The time and date is set automatically from the network It takes a few sec onds to update when the phone is first switched on Select 12 or 24 hr by going to Menu gt Settings gt Handset gt Network time To manually set the time go to Menu gt Settings gt Handset gt Time and Date 1 7 Howto make a voice call Enter the number on
