18. avenna Server is running in the Ravenna Core Audio panel If not running start it Buffer Size Recommendations A buffer size of 256 samples is recommended Latency and Clicks Audible pops and clicks can occur when using some third party audio interfaces or depending on the speed of the processor To avoid this problem increase the Hardware Buffer size for the device You should aim for the lowest possible I O buffer size value that doesn t introduce clicks pops and crackles in the audio Security Firewall The Mac Firewall can block communication between Ravenna and Horus Security Lale showAu c gt FileVault Firewall General Firewall Off This computer s firewall is currently turned off All incoming connections to this computer are allowed Click Start to turn the firewall on Click the lock to make changes Mac Security panel Firewall Tab Recommendation Disable by switching it Off Ravenna ASIO amp Core Audio Merging Ravenna Core Audio Driver Mac AMERGING RAVENNA ASIO amp Core Audio Guide 5 Horus Preamp Remote Control Pro Tools on Mac Horus analog preamps can be controlled directly from within Avid Pro Tools running on a Mac In order to set Pro Tools up for Horus preamp control follow this procedure 1 Check the Horus firmware version and update if necessary to v19734 or above 2 Connect Horus to the system running Pro Tools through the Ethernet port
