EG1400 UM 251 9730 4 1 4 DAILY MAINTENANCE 4 2 1 Changing the Filter Element for the Air Supply This engraver has a filter for the supplied air After prolonged use the element in the filter deteriorates and must be replaced The amount of contamination and length of time depend on the type of the compressor condition of the compressed air and environment Use the following procedure to change the element A WARNING Before replacing the element be sure to stop the compressed air supply and disconnect the air supply tube to equalize the inner pressure of the filter If this is not done the filter cover may be ejected by the force of the compressed air This is dangerous Be sure to stop the compressed air supply before proceeding The filter is located next to the air inlet on the back of the engraver 1 Hold the transparent cover of the filter and turn it counterclockwise about 45 until it stops In this position withdraw the transparent cover The element can then be replaced 2 With the transparent cover removed hold the element white part and pull it out to remove it Remove dust from inside the transparent cover using an air blower 3 Install a new element 4 Replace the O ring attached to the transparent cover with a new one Since the O ring is made of rubber it will stretch like a rubber band Hold and pull it to remove If the O ring is severely deteriorated the rub
