Figure 2 6 System Installation 2 6 VME 4000 Installation and Programming Manual Description and Installation 2 3 3 Expanding the System to Four Lines The two line expansion kit contains e 2 line expansion card e 4 wire cable e Two plastic spacers gt To install the expansion card 1 2 9v V m EA 8 Disconnect all external cables and connectors Remove the 9V DC adapter power plug from the main power supply outlet to turn the VME 4000 off Open the VME 4000 s top cover by unscrewing the four screws Place the two plastic spacers into the corresponding holes Insert the expansion card into the corresponding J6 connector Connect one end of the 4 wire cable to J5 on the motherboard and the other end to J5 on the expansion card Replace the top panel cover and plug the 9V DC adapter into the main power supply outlet to turn the VME 4000 on Reconnect all the external cables and connectors to the VME 4000 Voice Mail System automatically detects four lines when it is turned on VME 4000 Installation and Programming Manual 2 7 3 3 1 DTMF PROGRAMMING The VME 4000 can be programmed by e Telephone using DTMF tones e Computer using the Voice Mail Utility Program see Section 4 This section describes programming the VME 4000 using DTMF tones Note You will hear a confirmation tone every time you enter a programming command Entering and Exiting the Programming Mode The VME 4000 does no
