20. n The Odometer distance displays the total distance travelled by the bicycle since leaving the factory and cannot be reset 22 23 STANDARD BICYCLE FUNCTIONS Gears The Francis Barnett FBST Special Edition is provided with 8 speed Shimano Alfine gears To change gear you use the right handlebar mounted gear SQUEEZE to selector levers change UP Gear number 1 is low for hills and rough terrain and gear 8 is high for normal road use An indicator window shows the selected gear To increase the gear simply pull squeeze the upper lever with your right index finger To decrease the gear push the lower lever away from you with your thumb change DOWN You do not need to be pedalling as you change gears Braking To stop release the throttle and pull the brake levers Bell A bell is provided and has been fitted to the right of the handlebars This traditional styled bell has a large diameter for great audibility Side Stand To put the bicycle on its stand 1 While holding the bicycle upright push the stand downwards to its full extent 2 Lean the bicycle over onto the stand Make sure bicycle is on solid ground Lights Lights are provided on your Francis Barnett Electric bicycle These energy efficient LED units are powered from the main battery To turn on the front light M ensure that the power is on and press and hold the MODE and UP buttons TOGETHER to
