1. AQUALUMINATOR Supplemental Instructions For Non Water Return Assembly These Instructions are provided as a supplement to the AquaLuminator Installation Instructions The following is outlined to help you install the AquaLuminator into a pool that requires cutting a hole through the pool wall and does not utilize the lamp housing as an inlet port 1 READIMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS in the AquaLuminator Installation Instruction Manual 2 Follow Steps 1 4 in AquaLuminator Installation Instructions 3 The center of the hole for the light must be drilled a minimum of 972 and a maximum of 11 from the top of the pool This will position the top of the lens at the proper depth AWARNING Risk of pool wall rupture DO NOT cut hole for body and flange with the center of the hole below 117 form the top of the pool wall Cutting a hole below this position can weaken the pool wall and cause it to rupture A ruptured pool wall can cause severe injury to swimmers and others near the pool as well as property damage AWARNING Read all instructions for electrical connections in the AquaLuminator instruction booklet before drilling holes or mounting transformer Improperly placed holes or mounting location can make it difficult to make electrical connections Incorrect electrical connections can create an electrical hazard that could result in severe injury or death from electrical shock 4 Now that you have determined the location of the li
2. ght and transformer it is time to cut the hole in the wall material 5 The vinyl material must not be cut at this time To prepare the pool for cutting you must ON A NEW POOL Hole should be cut in wall material before the liner in installed ON AN EXISTING POOL Drain pool to a level about 6 below light location a little over two feet below normal water level NOTE If your existing pool is drained completely for any reason it must be refilled to a point of 6 below light location to re stretch liner before installing light Disconnect liner at the top above light location and pull liner away from the wall A drill with a 3 8 chick is required to cut the hole in the wall material AWARNING Risk of electrical shock or electrocution Use of electric drill in the proximity of water could result in severe injury or death from electrical shock if the person or the electric drill comes in contact with the water Use of a cordless battery operated or rechargeable drill is recommended 6 The cutting tool supplied with this light is designed to cut 0 02 to 0 04 wall thickness material Punch or drill a 3 16 pilot hole through the pool wall from the outside of the wall material 1074 below the top of the pool wall Place the hole cutting tool supplied in the chuck of your drill and cut the hole from the outside of the pool through the wall material Do not use any electrical equipment within 10 feet of the pool not intended for s
3. uch use 7 FOR A NEW POOL Install liner as directed by pool manufacturer and fill pool with water up to about 3 below light installation location NOTE Vinyl must not be cut for light until liner is stretched into place by filling the pool to this level 8 FORAN EXISTING POOL Reattach liner to pool wall Locate hole area to be cut from the inside of the pool on the liner and cut hole in liner from the pool side with a sharp knife using the hole in the wall as a template 9 Follow Steps 10 18 in the AquaLuminator Installation Instructions to complete installation of lamp housing disregarding steps 14 amp 15 10 Follow instructions for electrical connections for storable pools or permanent pools defined by the Important Safety Instructions found in the AquaLuminator Installation Instruction Manual Pentair Pool Products gt Pentair 1620 Hawkins Rd Sanford NC 27330 919 774 4151 Pool Products 10951 West Los Angeles Ave Moorpark CA 93021 805 523 2400 Because reliability matters most Rev A 4 4 03 1 P N 99730300
