7. se steps 1 Always start with the base and work your way up the shaft attaching the head last 2 Place your foot on the base of the lamp on the floor 3 While holding the shaft with your hand gently rock the unit back and forth 4 Shaft should ease into the socket and the screw holes will align PROBLEM Light won t come on CHECK Has the plug come loose SOLUTION Insert plug securely into wall outlet s the bulb old Check the bulb for blackening darkening at the ends an indicator of bulb life and replace bulb s the bulb connected securely to the socket Be sure the bulb is securely seated into the socket repeat the bulb installation process Blackening darkening at ends of bulb s the bulb new Sometimes when a new bulb is turned on for the first time the tube will darken but this will fade after a few minutes s the bulb old With older bulbs darkening of the tube indicates end of bulb life This doesn t affect operation except to reduce the amount of light available since the phosphor in that area has become inactive Bulb replacement is recommended Light flickers Has the plug come loose Insert plug securely into wall outlet s the bulb connected securely to the socket Be sure the bulb is securely seated into the socket repeat the bulb installation process CAUTION DISCONNECT LAMP FROM OUTLET PRIOR TO REPEATING THE BULB INSTALLATION PROCESS MISE EN
8. tic covering The clear plastic covering on the shaft is specially designed to tear away easily IMPORTANT NOTE Remove red plastic protective pieces prior to assembly Assembly Instructions Read Instructions Carefully Before Assembly 1 Connect the two ends of the Power Cord between the Base and the Cope Shaft using the lock connectors 2 Carefully tuck excess Power Cord into the Shaft DO NOT CUT OR SHORTEN THE POWER CORD 3 Insert the Gooseneck and the Shaft into the Base 4 Check direction of the lamp and the hole on the Base then use a Phillips Head Screwdriver not included to tighten the screw into the hole CAUTION BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO PINCH ANY PART OF THE CORD BETWEEN ANY METAL PIECES MISE EN GARDE PRENDRE SOIN DE NE PAS PINCER LE Fever CORDON DANS DES PI CES METALLIQUES Lock c t onnectors Fig 1 Shaft Base Assembly Instructions continued 5 To prevent damage during shipping the Verilux bulb is surrounded by protective padding Carefully remove and dispose of the protective padding Check to ensure that the bulb is fully seated and has not come loose from the socket during shipping There should be no gap between the bulb and socket 6 Attaching the Parabolic Grid Diffuser e Remove grid diffuser from protective plastic bag e Insert plastic pegs at bottom of grid diffuser into openings near the bulb socket Snap tab into place 7 Plug lamp into an o
