13. d Folder File Name Playing MP3 discs To play MP3 tracks Load the disc as normal A menu will appear on the display showing the folders and tracks as they have been stored on the disc e If you wish to access a track or tracks within a folder use the A N to navigate to the folder containing the track s you wish to play e Press enter to select The folder contents will then be listed Navigate to the track you wish to play again using the A and V keys e Press enter or jp to play the selected track The unit will play the selected track and all subsequent tracks in the same folder or list Setup user options The user options can be used to configure the MAJIK CD player to operate in a particular type of installation to customise certain aspects of its operation to your requirements or to view important functional data To enter and navigate the Setup menus Using the handset e Press SETUP Navigate up or down the options within a menu using A V o e Press or enter to select an option e Press lt to go back to previous option or menu e Press SETUP to exit setup The option that is currently active either by default or selected by you will be indicated by a tick beside it Using the front panel e Press and hold A e Navigate up or down the options within a menu using B b e Press Ior to select an option e Press 4 to go back to previous option
14. dsets required to operate a Linn system is minimised The handset is therefore capable of operating ina variety of modes CD mode press SHIFT DVD The CD functions will then be assigned as the primary handset keys and the CD LED will operate whenever one of the keys is pressed DVD mode press the DVD key The DVD functions will then be assigned as the primary handset keys and the DVD LED will operate when one of the keys is pressed The MAJIK CD player will also respond to DVD commands however see notes below AMP mode press the AMP key The preamplifier functions printed in blue above or below the keys themselves will then be the primary handset keys and both LEDs will operate when one of the AMP keys is pressed SHIFT functions Pressing SHIFT followed within 2 seconds by one of the keys with red type above it will access the function as indicated by the red type Note unlike the mode functions above the handset is not reassigned and SHIFT must be pressed before each shift function is accessed Notes The handset mode and the product being controlled will determine which keys are operational Some keys will only operate with specific products and may be non functional for others See the Operation instructions below for details of which keys apply to the MAJIK CD player The unit will respond to relevant DVD commands e g Play stop skip etc as long as the Accept DVD Commands user option
15. e function To access the include function Load the disc but do not play it or stop the disc if it is playing e Press INCLUDE on the handset SHIFT 5 e Using the numeric keys on the handset see Direct track access above enter the number of the first track that you wish to include in your play list e Press STORE on the handset to confirm your selection The selected track will be added to the play list Repeat the above process to add more tracks as required pressing STORE after each selection e Once you are happy with your play list press on the handset or front panel to play the programmed selection INC will appear on the display to indicate that an include program is in operation Note It is possible to include a track on an include program more than once To cancel the include function Press INCLUDE on the handset again SHIFT 5 or Eject the disc Exclude function To access the exclude function Load the disc but do not play it or stop the disc if it is playing Press EXCLUDE on the handset SHIFT 6 e Enter the number of the first track that you wish to exclude from your play list using the numeric keys on the handset see Direct track access above MAJIK CD 17 e Press STORE on the handset to confirm your selection The selected track will be added to the list of excluded tracks Repeat the above process to exc

18. iguration Description Default setting SPDIF Output Off If you are using your MAJIK CD player as a stand alone device set to Off there will be no output from LtRt PCM the DIGITAL OUT output Raw LtRt PCM If you are using an external DAC digital to analogue converter set to Raw data from the DIGITAL OUT output is identical to the source data If you are recording to an external digital source e g DAT player set to LtRt PCM Unit Configuration Description Default setting Handset If set to Yes the unit will respond to handset commands Commands Accepted If set to No the unit will not respond to handset commands Note if this option is set to No setup will not be accessible via the handset It will then be necessary to access setup via the front panel keys see To enter and navigate the Setup menus above Accept DVD If set to Yes DVD commands such as Play Pause Stop Skip etc that are relevant to the MAJIK CD Commands player will be accepted from the handset whether the handset is in DVD or CD mode If set to No these commands will only be accepted if the handset is in CD mode Note see Operation Handset for further details of handset modes Remote In to If set to Ves remote commands received at the REMOTE IN socket will be passed through to the Remote Out REMOTE OUT socket allowing remote commands to be relayed to other products downstream If set to No
19. is set to Yes It will then respond when the handset is in DVD mode as well as CD mode Yes is the factory default setting See Setup user options MAJIK CD Standby When first powered up your MAJIK CD player will be in standby and the display will show the standby symbol To bring the unit out of standby e Press Don the handset or front panel sume INCLUDE EXCLUDE USTEN RECORD SIGAL 0000 AJIK CD WMC MOND wO AK UB W a PO G Note Anv of the front panel kevs or the CD function kevs on the handset will also bring the unit out of standbv Using certain kevs to bring the unit out of standbv will cause the unit to perform the kev s designated action after it has come out of standby For example if the A key is pressed while the unit is in standby it will open the drawer immediately after it has come out of standby To take the unit into standby e Press on the handset or front panel Notes Standby mode reduces the power used by the unit and is useful for situations where the unit is not being used for a short time and or requires to be switched on remotely For longer periods of non use switching off at the mains using the mains switch at the rear or unplugging is recommended MAJIK CD 9 Basic controls gt A l s oooQ e Open close To open and close the disc drawer e Press A on the handset or front panel to open the disc drawer e P

21. lude more tracks as required pressing STORE after each selection e Once you are happy with your play list press on the handset or front panel to play the disc excluding the programmed selection EXC will appear on the display to indicate that an exclude program is in operation To cancel the exclude function e Press EXCLUDE on the handset again SHIFT 6 or Eject the disc 18 MAJIK CD Display The DISP display key on the handset allows you to scroll through a number of display options Notes The DISP key is only operational while a disc is playing All time displays are shown in the following format MM SS i e minutes seconds To access the display options Repeatedly press DISP on the handset to scroll through the following display options DISC TYPE shows which of the compatible disc types is currently playing e g CD HDCD etc See page 1 for a list of compatible disc types TRACK TOTAL shows the number of the track that is currently playing and the total number of tracks on the disc TRACK ELAPSED shows how much time has elapsed on the track that is currently playing TRACK REMAINING shows how much time is left to play on the track that is currently playing DISC ELAPSED shows how much time has elapsed on the disc DISC REMAINING shows how much time is left to play on the disc Note For MP3 discs the options are Disc Type Track Elapsed an
