2. manual HG English 12 15 Orpheo Mikro IX THE CHARGING RACKS 1 1 Installing the charging racks Regardless of the charging rack model it is imperative to provide ventilation If the charging rack doesn t have enough ventilation or the ambiant temperature is too high the devices switch into safety mode The Led will switch to orange 1 Plug the charging rack into a power outlet 2 The charging rack is ready to use 1 2 Installing the devices Insert each device into a charging rack slot The Led will switch to red The batteries are charging as long as the Led remains red Once the charging is complete the Led will switch to green A full charge is not required The device can be removed and used at any point in the charging cycle It will start the charging process again once returned to the charging rack BEIG Name Author s Language Page 2013 09 24 Settings and user manual HG English 13 15 Orpheo Mikro X ORPHEO S ADDITIONAL OPTIONS amp FEATURES Subtitle option allows text to scroll along the display while the audio messages are playing Two headphone jacks enable visitors to share the Orpheo on exceptionally busy days a Orpheo Desk Manager dedicated software for audio tour distribution management a Charging racks are available in a 19 inch rackable format which can be integrated into a flight case or custom cabinetry We also have mobile enclosable racks housing 240 audio guides Indu

UDIOGUIDE To turn the device on press and hold the red key for 2 seconds The Orpheo will first display a logo and then a message on the display will invite you to choose an audio track f you press the green key the available languages that have been loaded into the device will be shown on the display This feature is used by the personnel who distribute the audio guides in sites where multiple languages are required We recommend that you program all available languages on your devices The logo shown on the display can easily be changed using our Orpheo Manager Software Date Name Author s Language Page 2013 09 24 Settings and user manual HG English 4 15 Orpheo Mikro IL CHANGING THE LANGUAGE You are able to choose the language of the visit just after the device has been turned on and up until the first track is played Once the first track has begun the chosen language will be locked by the device and cannot be changed until the device has been restarted The language that will be used if you do not select another one will be the language shown on the display when the device is turned on To change the language on the Mikro Press the green key and use the plus and minus keys to scroll through the list of possible languages Once your desired language is highlighted simply release the key and it will be selected automatically Using Orpheo Manager the default language can be defined when the languages
6. are downloaded to the audioguides Two choices exist It can be set to always use the same starting language or can be set to use the last selected language by default Once a language is selected it cannot be changed without restarting the device This is intended to prevent the visitor from accidentally switching languages during the visit If desired this function can be unlocked to allow visitors to change languages on their own Changing languages in this way also changes the language of the text that appears on the screen The displayed languages can incorporate special Characters option such as those used in Japanese Korean Chinese Arabic etc Date Name Author s Language Page 2013 09 24 Settings and user manual HG English 5 15 Orpheo Mikro IIl LISTENING TO AN AUDIO TRACK Mikro model Type in a number on the keypad to select the desired audio track The sound will start automatically There is a delay of a few seconds to allow time to bring the audioguide to the visitor s ear The title of the active audio message will scroll across the display screen in the language the device is set to It is also possible to have the complete text of the audio message scroll across the screen subtitle mode This function is particularly useful for the hearing impaired Dual headset plugs allow 2 visitors to listen to the commentary simultaneously with one unit The loudspeaker can be set to an active

10. the Orpheo Mikro is to insert the devices into a slot in the charging rack each rack has 24 slots or to use a USB cable for individual devices When a device is entered into the charging rack the red light will turn on When the green light appears it means that the batteries have been recharged A complete battery charge takes about 8 hours If the battery of the inserted device is not completely empty it will take less time If the light doesn t switch on or if the light is orange this indicates there was is a problem in the charging process The charging rack uses a technology which enables a device to be charged at any time for example it s not necessary to wait until the battery is empty or nearly empty to have the best results The USB adaptor To recharge the batteries of the Orpheo Mikro via the USB adaptor connect the USB cable to a computer USB socket is located on the right side of the Orpheo device The green light will turn on once the batteries have been recharged The charging rack serves bath as a charging case and as a programmer for the audio program It enables sound to be transferred from a computer to a master unit and then from the master unit to the rest of the devices see following page In case of a power cut the system will restart itself automatically and resume the charge where it was interrupted Battery Level Indicator When the unit is in operation the batter
11. udioguides e Insert all of the devices except for the Master unit into the charging rack keep the slot marked Master free Check that all the devices are correctly inserted and switched on When a device has been inserted a flag will be displayed on the screen for 2 seconds e Switch the device which contains the content into master mode refer to the instructions in the grey box on the following page e On the master device choose the transfer option all the content only the settings or the firmware remote ON or remote OFF Validate by pressing the green button A downward facing arrow indicates that the device is ready to transfer the content to the other devices e Insert the Master unit into the Master slot in the charging rack amp the transfer will Start automatically see picture next page e When the master is inserted the slave devices will display an upward facing arrow which means that they have received the transfer order If one or several devices don t display this arrow remove them from the charging rack e A double status bar indicates the transfer progress If a device has not received any data for 30 seconds it will switch to a default status and a message invites you to press a key to reinitialize the device In this case restart the transfer process e Wait for this message to appear on the master unit Done Now you can unplug e Remove the Master unit and switch it back to Normal mode r
