At the Lower Paper Tray Assembly 9922 30 Caution Some surfaces inside the printer may be hot Be careful not to touch the areas marked with this caution icon 8 16 Phaser 360 Color Printer Troubleshooting 8 Clearing a media jam m To avoid ink smearing inside the printer always try to pull jammed paper or transparencies out through the top of the printer Use both hands to gently pull the media through its normal path out the top of the printer exit cover if possible Do not use excessive force pulling the media it may tear m After removing the jammed media inspect it for tears Leave no media scraps in the printer m If your prints have ink smears after clearing a jam refer to Cleaning for ink smears paper exit path on page 7 28 Ifjamming persists cleaning the printer may solve the problem Refer to Cleaning for ink smears and jams internal paper path on page 7 20 Warning Never use a sharp object to remove jammed paper You may damage the print drum requiring repair to your printer User Manual 8 17 8 Troubleshooting 1 Check for jammed media that has partially exited through the top of the printer Remove any jammed media by pulling the media gently out from the exit cover 2 If necessary open the exit cover using the blue release button located inside the front cover at the top of the printer 7 9922 24 3 Using both hands pull the jammed media fro

Changing the default media tray setting These instructions apply if you install the optional Lower Paper Tray Assembly Default setting When the Lower Paper Tray Assembly is first installed the default media tray selection is set to AutoSelect With this setting the printer automatically prints from the lower paper tray In addition note the following When the lower paper tray becomes empty the printer then automatically switches to the upper tray If a paper tray is installed in the upper tray slot then the printer prints on whatever media is loaded in the upper tray However if a transparency tray is installed then the printer prompts you to load paper in the Lower Paper Tray Assembly Changing to Upper and Lower settings When you add the Lower Paper Tray Assembly to your printer you may want to change the default media tray setting By resetting the default you override the printer s automatic switching from the lower paper tray to the upper tray when the Lower Paper Tray Assembly runs out of paper If you set the default selection to Lower the printer will automatically print from the Lower Paper Tray Assembly until otherwise instructed When you want to print from the upper tray for example to print letterhead or labels you then change the paper source or media tray setting to Upper from your computer Always explicitly select Transparency to print transparencies from an upper tray To reset the default media tray
