1. 16 REMOTE CONTROL UNIT 4 WARNING To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock do not use this unit with any solid state speed control device The remote control unit A provided with this unit is not considered a solid state device NOTE The remote control unit requires two 2 AAA batteries not included The battery housing is located underneath the back cover of the remote Notice that the remote control has three control buttons TIME B ON OFF C and SPEED D These buttons correspond to the LED sensor panel on the rear of the machine Fig 2 1 1 To activate the blower unit first turn on the ON OFF Switch on the power cord 2 Press the ON OFF button C on the remote The air cleaner will begin in the default speed of Low or L on the sensor panel 3 Press the SPEED button D once and the air cleaner will run at the high or level 4 Press the SPEED button again and the air cleaner will run at the medium or level 5 Press the SPEED button a third time and the air cleaner will return to the low or L level 6 To turn the machine off press the ON OFF button on the remote This air cleaner has a timer that can be set by remote control 1 When the TIME button B on the remote control is pressed the blower will run for 1 2 hour An LED light will show up on the sensor panel 2 Pressing the TIME button again will set the blower

Do not locate the unit in a corner or near any heating or cooling vents OPERATIONS CAUTION Make certain shipping blocks have been removed from between cabinet and blower assembly before unit is turned on FUNCTION This Air Cleaner is furnished with two filters an outer pre filter which filters particles that are five microns and larger and a secondary disposable three pocket inner filter that captures 91 of the dust particles that are one micron and larger one micron one millionth of a meter The Air Cleaner will filter the air in a room measuring 20 x 20 x 8 up to twenty two times an hour If desired multiple units can be used to filter larger areas CONNECTING TOOL TO POWER SOURCE A separate electrical circuit should be used for your tools This circuit should not be less than 414 A W G wire and should be protected with a 15 amp time lag fuse Have a qualified electrician repair or replace dam aged or worn cord immediately Before connecting the motor to the power line make certain the switch is in the OFF position and be sure that the electric current is of the same characteristics as stamped on the motor nameplate All line connections should make good ON OFF SWITCH The Air Cleaner is supplied with an in line rocker switch located on the power cord To START or STOP the unit press downward on the rocker switch NOTE The ON OFF Switch must be turned ON before using the remote control feature

HE UNIT IS SECURELY SUPPORTED WHEN MOUNTING TO A CEILING OR OVERHEAD SUPPORT 1 Remove four screws one of which is shown at A from top of Air Cleaner B See figure 2 1 2 Thread a flange nut 5 16 18 approximately half way onto the eye bolt 5 16 18 x 1 1 2 3 Threadthe eye bolt with the flange nut assembled into the hole where screw was removed in STEP 1 NOTE Thread each eye bolt eight complete turns into threaded hole 15 Fig 2 1 4 Figure 2 2 shows one of the four eye bolts E assembled to the top of the Air Cleaner NOTE To adjust the height of the Air Cleaner loosen flange nuts and rotate eye bolts as necessary IMPOR TANT For safety reasons eye bolts must be threaded at least eight complete turns into tapped hole in top of Air Cleaner Make certain the flange nuts are tightened down against the surface of the Air Cleaner after height adjustments are made Fig 2 2 A WARNING NEVER SECURE MOUNTING HARDWARE TO DRYWALL DROP CEILING TILE FRAME OR NON STRUCTURAL MEMBERS A WARNING KEEP A MINIMUM OF SEVEN FEET BETWEEN BOT TOM OF AIR CLEANER AND THE FLOOR DO NOT use rope cable or power cord to suspend the unit from the ceiling We recommend that a chain should be used and rated for a minimum of a 150 pound working load to firmly support the Air Cleaner IMPORTANT When determining a location to mount the unit the Air Cleaner will operate more efficiently when the air flow is unrestricted

16. er in place turn the air cleaner ON and check the air flow indicator If the arrow points to green the inner filter will not have to be replaced If the arrow points to red then the inner filters will need to be replaced Proceed to the next step 6 To replace the inner filter lift and pull out on the bottom of the filter 7 Install the new inner filter by placing the top of the filter in first and allowing the bottom to sit on the air cleaner NOTE Make certain if there is an AIRFLOW ARROW on either filter that the arrow points inward toward the blower of the air cleaner 8 Replace the outer pre filter by placing the top of the filter in first and allowing the bottom to sit on the air cleaner Make sure it is sitting inside of the bottom lip of the air cleaner 9 Turn the air cleaner on and again check the air flow indicator If the arrow points to green you are finished If the arrow points to red then the outer pre filter will need replaced LUBRICATION The Air Cleaner has sealed lubricated bearings in the motor housing that do not require any additional lubrica tion from the operator CAUTION DO NOT USE FLAMMABLE MATERIALS to clean Air Cleaner 4 WARNING Repairs to the Air Cleaner should be performed by trained personnel only Contact your nearest Steel City Authorized Service Center for authorized service Unauthorized repairs or replacement with non factory parts could cause serio
