Q i agy Legrest raise lower Auto contour raise lower Bed raise lower Trendelenburg Reverse Trendelenburg To operate the handset the key should be inserted Remove to lock all functions NB Please note that the Trendelenburg and Reverse Trendelenburg functions should be used on the instructions of medical staff and only then with strict supervision Do not leave anyone unattended in these positions Telephone 0116 287 6104 6 Email info cordatehealthcare co uk G CORDATEHEALTHCARE EQUIPMENT SOLUTIONS safety Advice We would recommend that this bed is not used for persons under the age of twelve years for a person who weighs more than the safe working load of 180kg or is taller than 6 5 Please make sure that all cables are free from any points that may cause pinching Discontinue use immediately and call Cordate Healthcare if any cable is damaged Cable ties are enclosed to secure cable to the frame Position the mains cable so that it will not be run over crushed or stretched by any other equipment used When the bed is being used always apply the wheel castor brakes A risk assessment should be carried out if any other medical equipment is to be used on the bed The bed is not to be used close to major medical equipment such as X Ray equipment When using the bed be alert to any crush or entrapment risk For lightweight users please ensure that there is no risk of entrapment between the bed
3. to assemble 1 Join the end of the mattress frame on to the bed end that is against the wall 2 Lower the mattress frame ensuring the two studs on the outside slide into the slots 3 When the mattress frame has been joined to the bed end be sure to twist the locking pins to secure the two ends together 4 Repeat this process for the other half of the bed 6 Raise the bed to its highest position to fit the side rails Push in the button at the side of the bed and insert the side rail support bracket see illustration below The catch will release when the side rail support bracket is in its top position Always insert the pointed end of the runner first Once the rail has been fitted lift the rail to lock in the up position Fit the side rail support bracket to the other end of the rails and repeat the procedure used for the other end of the rail Repeat for the other side of the bed 5 Join the two halves of the mattress frame together and tighten with the two knobs one on either side to secure the frame Telephone 0116 287 6104 4 Email info cordatehealthcare co uk Fax 0116 227 1337 5 www cordatehealthcare co uk uggested Use Your Charnwood or Beacon Bed from Cordate Healthcare is a fully profiling bed It is designed to give greater independence to users who need help from carers making it easier to position the user and easier and safer for carers The Handset 8 3 Q Backrest raise lower V4 i 9 t
4. rails and the mattress Bed rail protectors should be used if this is the case If the bed rails are assessed to be used please ensure that they are clicked properly in place Never reach through the bed rails Do not move any part of the bed if anything is projecting through the rails Before raising or lowering the bed please ensure that nothing is obstructing it such as electric plugs or other items under the bed especially when lowering Before using the bed make sure that all parts are tightened and motors are working correctly When the bed is not being used leave it in its lowest position to prevent anything being placed or trapped underneath Never move the bed in the raised position whist it is occupied Never stand on or sit on the rails They may break and cause injury Fax 0116 227 1337 7 www cordatehealthcare co uk Moving an occupied bed We would recommend that the bed is not moved whilst it is occupied but if this has to be done for any reason ensure that the bed platform is in its lowest position We advise that the power be turned off and plug removed from the socket before attempting to move the bed Please ensure that the hand knobs and grub screws are all fully tightened Take care when moving over room thresholds ensuring that the occupant is seated at the front of the bed there appears to be any distortion of the bed frame stop the move remove the client from the bed them check that all hand tigh
