When the old photograph is the same color as the background it is placed upon The maximum size when recording an old photograph is 2M 1600 x 1200 pixels even if the camera is configured for a larger image size When the camera is configured to record images smaller than 2M 1600 x 1200 pixels images will be in accordance with the currently specified image size e Under certain conditions restored colors may not produce the desired results Recording Snapshots into a Multi image Layout Layout Shots You can create a multi snapshot image by recording snapshots into the frames that are arranged in a preset pattern This lets you create album like arrangements of related images in a single image BEST SHOT scenes are available with three frames and two frames Layout Two Images e Layout Three Images 1 In the REC mode press BS BEST SHOT 2 Use A V lt 4 and gt to select Layout and then press SET OTHER RECORDING FUNCTIONS 3 Press the shutter button to record the first image The camera will record the first snapshot and then get ready for the next one Frame 4 Press the shutter button again to record the next snapshot If you are shooting into a three frame layout press the shutter button a third time to record the third image Pressing SET during steps 3 or 4 of the above procedure will toggle between the layout screen the one with the frames on it and

13. 444 e Never use your computer to edit delete move or rename images stored in the camera s file memory Doing so can cause problems with the image management data used by the camera which may make it impossible to display images on the camera or it may cause large error in the number of images value displayed by the camera Always copy images to your computer before performing any edit delete move or rename operation VIEWING IMAGES ON A COMPUTER E USB Connection Precautions Do not leave the same image displayed on your computer screen for a long time Doing so can cause the image to burn in on the screen e Never disconnect the USB cable or perform any camera or USB cradle operation while data communication is in progress Doing so can cause data to become corrupted ee Using the Camera with a Macintosh Computer The following are the general steps for viewing and copying files from a Macintosh You can find details about each operation in the procedures that follow below Note that you should also refer to the documentation that comes with your Macintosh for other information about USB connections etc DDD IMPORTANT 444 e This camera does not support operation on a computer running Mac OS 8 6 or lower or Mac OS X 10 0 If you have a Macintosh running Mac OS 9 or OS X 10 1 10 2 10 3 or 10 4 use the standard USB driver that comes with your OS 1 Use the USB cradle to establish a connection be

Never use the camera inside of an aircraft or in any other area where its use is prohibited Doing so creates the risk of accident Physical damage and malfunction of this camera can cause the data stored in its memory to be deleted Always keep backup copies of data by transferring them to personal computer memory INTRODUCTION e Never open the battery cover disconnect the AC adaptor from the camera or unplug the AC adaptor from the wall socket while an image is being recorded Doing so will not only make storage of the current image impossible it can also corrupt other image data already stored in file memory E Test for proper operation before using the camera Before using the camera to record important images make sure you first record a number of test images and check the results to ensure that the camera is configured correctly and operating properly INTRODUCTION E Data Error Precautions e Your digital camera is manufactured using precision digital components Any of the following creates the risk of corruption of data in file memory While the camera is performing an operation removing the battery or memory card from the camera or placing the camera onto or removing it from the USB cradle While the operation lamp is flashing green after turning off the camera removing the memory card from the camera or placing the camera onto or removing it from the USB cradle Disconnecting
