43. access point must match the IP address and secret key on the authentication server You may need to reenter the IP address and secret key on both your access point and authentication server e the authentication server software is running on the server PC Date and time are not saved when you perform a clean boot Reenter the date and time and then save your changes 90 CN3 Series Mobile Computer User s Manual for Windows Mobile 6 1 Problems Scanning Bar Codes Problem You cannot see a red beam of light from the scanner when you press the Scan button and aim the scanner at a bar code label The input device attached to the computer does not work well or read bar code labels very quickly When you release a Scan button or handle trigger the Good Read light does not turn off The scanner will not read the bar code label The scanner does not read the bar code labels quickly or the scanning beam seems to be faint or obscured Chapter 4 Troubleshooting and Maintaining the CN3 Solution e You may be too far away from the bar code label Try moving closer to the bar code label and scan it again e You may be scanning the bar code label straight on Change the scanning angle and try again The scanner hardware trigger might be disabled in Intermec Settings To check the setting go to Start gt Settings gt System Tab gt Data Collection gt Scanner Settings Hardware trigger should be checked

105. stem Software 69 Chapter 3 Developing and Installing Applications Developing Applications for the CN3 The CN3 runs applications programmed in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 You can also use Microsoft eMbedded Visual C 4 0 to program applications but some features may not be available Use this section to understand the hardware and software you need to develop a new application for the computer Use the Intermec resource kits to develop new applications to run on the CN3 The Intermec resource kits are a library of C and NET components grouped by functionality that you can use to create applications for the computer The resource kits are part of the Intermec Developer Library IDL and can be downloaded from the Intermec web site at www intermec com idl You need the following hardware and software components to use the resource kits e Pentium desktop 400 MHz or higher e Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 or later or Windows XP Home Professional or Server e For native and managed development Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 e 128 MB RAM 196 MB recommended e 360 MB hard drive space for minimum installation 720 MB for complete e CD ROM drive compatible with multimedia desktop specification e VGA or higher resolution monitor Super VGA recommended e Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device Installing Applications on the CN3 There are several ways you can install applications on your mobile computer
