SkillShare User Manual 6 2 2008 Contents e Preface e Set Up e How do I set up an exchange e How do I record my hours e How do I place an offer or request Preface Congratulations on your decision to participate in a TimeBanks community You re about to see that the process of exchanging services has evolved in a new and exciting way Using this Internet based software you will be able to create ads for offers or requests yourself giving them your own personal touch The basic premise is simple Using the web site you create an advertisement to either offer your services or to request a service Through the web site other members of the TimeBank are able to view your ad and your personal profile They can respond to you either offering their services to meet your requests or request one of your services To set this up you can communicate with these other members to discuss the service and iron out the details Upon completion of the service exchange you and your exchange partner use the system to close out the exchange and record the hours The system will keep track of all the time you spend earn and you can easily recall your account status at any time Of course you also have the freedom and ability to browse offers and requests from other members to see how you can assist them The system even has the capability of letting you record exchange hours without having to place anad If you have an arrangement with anothe

11. rom the Community page Give amp Receive see TimeBank market place There are major categories and sub categories o Click Search for Services and see the Search Service Ads window Enter the key word and or a Service Category and Service Enter the type of service ad Both Offers Requests you are searching for along with an expiration date as appropriate o Click Advanced Search to narrow the search and scroll down o Now choose one or more of the qualifiers o Scroll to the bottom and click Search e Second way o Select All Offers or All Requests to see a list of them Start a conversation e If you decide to start a conversation with this member about this offer see the text box at the bottom of the window that contains a canned message SkillShare User Manual May 2008 e You can send this canned message or you can edit it to be more specific about the exchange that you want to make e Preview message edit if necessary and send your message e This begins the conversation with the other member Receive amp read the reply e The other member will reply to you via the Community Weaver software preferred way by sending you an email message Some members prefer to make their contacts by phone e If the preferred way is used you will see an email in your inbox from sysadmin timebanks org that tells you that a member wants to communicate with you Could be a new conversation or a continuing a conversation e Log on
