3. 5 packages e Europe e Northamerica e Southamerica e Africa e Asia Oceania Apollo AirMap Terrain can be used worldwide if it is used together with Apollo AirMap GlobalXplorer Plus or Apollo AirMapX Plus If it is used together with any AirMap chart product the terrain overly can be displayed only at regions which are covered by the AirMap chart product The resolution of the terrain data is about 90 m in latitude range between 60 and 60 Above 60 and below 60 the accuracy is about 1000 m APOLLO AIRMAP PAGE 3 Installation Uninstallation To install the program Apollo AirMap Terrain XX exe must be executed XX is a placeholder XX EU Europe America or World The data of APOLLO AirMap Terrain must be installed into the same subdirectory where AirMap or AirMap GlobalXplorer Plus are already installed Normally the install program will find this path and you don t have to care about it Depending on your choice of packages you can select the regions you want to install This is a possibility to save disk space If you install only some regions you can install the remaining regions afterwards be executing the installation program Apollo AirMap Terrain exe To uninstall the program you have to execute again Apollo AirMap Terrain XX exe APOLLO AIRMAP PAGE 3 User Interface After APOLLO AirMap Terrain has been installed the Terrain Radar can be activated by selection of the MAP pushbutton at the G
4. 500 panel This will show the MAP softkeys APOLLO 6500 15 2001411 AirMa P s sr Map Terrain ICAO BRIGHTNESS TRANSPAR CY The Terrain Radar can be activated deactivated by pressing the Terrain softkey The Terrain Radar has 3 different MAP modes In MAP1 mode the terrain will be displayed with 3 colors The meaning of the colors are explained by a legend at the left of the screen Terrain in red will reach from 100 feet to the highest point of the terrain Terrain in yellow will reach from 1000 feet to 100 feet below the aircraft Terrain in black will reach from 2000 feet to 1000 feet below the aircraft and terrain below 2000 feet will not be colored Depending on the relative height of the aircraft above the local terrain the color of the terrain will permanently be changed The transparency of the terrain overlay can be continuously adjusted by the Transparency switch at the instrument panel oft the G500 APOLLO AIRMAP PAGE 3 APOLLO G500 xj BRIGHTNESS TRANSPAR In MAP2 mode the terrain will be displayed with colors The meaning of the colors are explained by a legend at the left of the screen Terrain in red will reach from 1000 feet above the aircraft up to the highest point of the terrain Terrain in yellow will reach from 500 feet below the aircraft up to 1000 feet above the aircraft Terrain in dark green will reach from 1000 feet to 500 feet below the aircr

GE 3 TAWS is an acronym for Terrain Alert and Warning System The TAWS will be active under following conditions excessive decent rate premature descent caution negative climb rate terrain avoidence The excessive decent rate alert depends on decent rate and current radaraltitude The premature descent caution alert depends on the flight phase approach and the distance to the airport The negative climb rate alert is only active during departure flight phase The terrain avoidence alert depends on flight phase departure enroute approach In general the alert will be triggered about 1 minute before touching the ground if the current horizontal and vertical speed will be maintained APOLLO AIRMAP PAGE 3 AirMap ini File the subdirectory System within the install directory of AirMap normally located at Apollo AirMap System the file AirMap ini can be found after installation This file contains parameter which can be manually edited Terrain Color1 0 240 11 Color2 49 152 97 Color3 255 255 148 Color4 254 0 1 Color5 125 1 0 Blendfactor 0 500000 The parameters Color1 Color5 define the color used in MAP2 mode The color of MAP1 and MAP3 mode cannot be changed The parameter Blendfactor is the default value for the transparency of the terrain overlay This value can be altered with the slider at the instrument border APOLLO AIRMAP PAGE 3 License Activation Under the APOLLO AirMap software license agre

11. ement you may use the software only on a single pc for which you need a unique activation key Without activation all functions are available for 7 days You Will remembered to activate every day in this period until you have activated the license After the trial period AirMap Terrain stops running if not activated If you do not want to activate it is recommended to uninstall the product AirMap Terrain requires always an active internet connection You can at any time change the binding of the license on your computer with the help of the AirMapActivator even if the license get lost by a hardware failure Activation The activation over internet can be done within seconds AirMapActivater permits the transfer of the license between any PC even if the original license or the PC where the original license was installed ar no longer available The only condition for this procedure is the knowledge of the serial number of the product Therefore the serial productnumber is your personal key and should be kept secret and at a safe place If an unauthorized person gets knowledge of your serial number he will be able to use your license and the license might be become unusable for you The AirMapActivator will be used to activate the license The program can be found at the install directory of AirMap under Apollo AirMap System The AirMapActivator can also be found in the Windows Start menu under Apollosoftware Within the Flight Simulator the AirMapAc
12. herwise uses the enclosed software product This Agreement covers all materials associated with the enclosed software product herein the Software 1 GRANT OF LICENSE APOLLO grants Licensee a non exclusive non transferable personal and worldwide license to use one copy of the Software on one computer only and one copy of the associated user documentation contained in the accompanying user manual online help or Acrobat files Documentation This license is for a single individual and not an entire company Software may only be used for private non public and non commercial use only The license granted hereunder applies only to the designated version of the enclosed Software If the Software is an upgrade it and the product that was upgraded constitute a single copy of the Software for purposes hereof and the upgrade and product that was upgraded cannot be used by two people at the same time This product is not for commercial use only for private entertainment on a single PC Licensee may not modify or alter the Software or remove any identifying string or copyright notice produced by the Software If the enclosed Software is packaged For Evaluation Only no right to copy and or distribute the Software is granted 2 OTHER RESTRICTIONS Licensee may not use copy rent lease sell sublicense assign or otherwise transfer the Software or any copy modification or merged portion in whole or in part except as expressly prov
13. ided for in this Agreement Licensee acknowledges that the Software in source code form remains a confidential trade APOLLO AIRMAP PAGE 3 secret of and or its suppliers and therefore Licensee agrees that it shall not modify decompile disassemble or reverse engineer the Software or attempt to do so except as permitted by applicable legislation Licensee shall not reproduce copy or transfer any Documentation Licensee may not use the Software to develop an application that directly or indirectly utilizes or competes with APOLLO s software product If Licensee wishes to use the Software in a manner prohibited by this Agreement Licensee should contact APOLLO to determine whether a special license may be obtained 3 PROPRIETARY RIGHTS NOTICES Except for the limited license granted herein APOLLO retains exclusive ownership of all proprietary rights including all ownership rights title and interest in and to the Software 4 TERM The license granted hereby is effective until terminated Licensee may terminate the license by returning the Software and Documentation to APOLLO without refund and destroying all copies thereof in any form APOLLO may terminate the license if Licensee fails to comply with any term or condition of this Agreement Upon such termination Licensee shall cease using the Software 5 EXCLUSION OF WARRANTIES APOLLO offers and Licensee accepts the Software AS IS APOLLO does not warrant the Software will meet
