6. gt Mirror menu after you turn the projector on IV Ceiling rear Select this location with the projector suspended from the ceiling behind the screen Note that a special rear projection screen and the BenQ Projector Ceiling Mounting Kit are required for this installation location Set in the Advance gt Mirror menu after you turn the projector on Positioning your projector 11 Obtaining a preferred projected image size The distance from the projector lens to the screen the zoom setting and the video format each factors in the projected image size BenQ has provided separate tables of dimensions for both 16 9 and 4 3 screen ratios to assist you in determining the ideal location for your projector l Zs 4 Determine the aspect ratio of your screen 4 3 or 16 9 Determine the projection distance allowed in your room Install the projector at a proper distance from the screen Refer to the table of 4 3 or 16 9 Screen Size depending on your screen ratio Locate the suitable value in the column of Distance from Screen In the same row you will find the maximum and minimum projected image sizes Determine the preferred height of your projector For example if you are using a 4 3 screen with 2 5 meters projection distance the maximum image size is close to 1 91 meters diagonal If you place the projector above or below the screen you have to tilt it down or up to center the image on the screen after turnin

Or Lan Usage Time 40 seconds The projector will shutdown after 40 S000 Hows seconds The lamp MUST be replaced before the change The Lane projector will operate normally Replacing the lamp N To reduce the risk of electrical shock always turn the projector off and disconnect the power cord before changing the lamp To reduce the risk of severe burns allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes before replacing the lamp To reduce the risk of injuries to fingers and damage to internal components use caution when removing lamp glass that has shattered into sharp pieces To reduce the risk of injuries to fingers and or compromising image quality by touching the lens do not touch the empty lamp compartment when the lamp is removed 30 Maintenance This lamp contains mercury Consult your local hazardous waste regulations to dispose of this lamp in a proper manner Step 1 Turn the power off and disconnect the projector from the wall socket Step 2 Protect the projector s surface by clearing a flat open area on your desk and placing a soft item on the desk for padding Step 3 Turn the projector over Then loosen the screws and remove the lamp cover If the lamp is hot avoid burns by waiting for 45 minutes until the lamp has cooled Step 4 Loosen the screw fixing the lamp to the projector If the screw is not loosened completely the lamp cannot be removed Be careful not to lose the screw as it is needed to hold the

11. environment and may cause high n speed Operation under High Altitude Mode may cause a higher decibel operating noise level because of increased fan speed necessary to improve overall system cooling and performance If you use this projector under other extreme environments excluding the above it may display auto shut down symptoms which is designed to protect your projector from over heating In cases like this you should switch to High Altitude mode to solve these symptoms However this is not to state that this projector can operate under any and all harsh or extreme environments Operation 27 28 5 Information Menu This menu shows you the current operating status of the projector C 37 Some picture adjustments are available only when certain input ports are in use Unavailable adjustments are not shown on the screen FUNCTION Source Resolution Preset Mode Lamp Hour System Operation DESCRIPTION Shows the current signal source Shows the native resolution of the input signal Shows the selected mode inthe 9 Picture menu Displays the number of hours the lamp has been used Shows the Video input system format NTSC SECAM or PAL Maintenance Care of the projector Your projector needs little maintenance The only thing you need to do on a regular basis is to keep the lens clean Never remove any parts of the projector except the lamp Contact your dealer if other parts need replaci

13. quick release adjuster foot and 1 rear adjuster foot These adjusters can be used to change the image height and projection angle To adjust the projector 1 Lift the projector up and press the adjuster button to release the adjuster The adjuster will drop into position 37 Do not look into the lens while the lamp is on The strong light from the lamp may cause damage to your eyes 2 Screw the rear adjuster foot to fine tune the horizontal angle To retract the foot press the adjuster button again C7 If the screen and the projector are not perpendicular to each other the projected image becomes vertically trapezoidal To correct this situation adjust the value of Keystone in the Picture menu on the projector control panel or on the remote control Auto adjusting the image In some cases you may need to optimize the picture quality To do this press Auto on the control panel of the projector or on the remote control Within 3 seconds the built in Intelligent Auto Adjustment function will re adjust the values of Frequency Clock and Keystone to provide the best picture quality The screen will be blank while the auto adjustment is functioning Fine tuning the image size and clarity 1 Adjust the projected image to the size 2 Then sharpen the image by rotating that you need using the zoom ring the focus ring Refer to the screen size tables on page 13 Operation 19 20 Correcting keystone Ke

22. e 21 for information Hides the image Refer to page 21 for more information Introduction 9 10 Preset According to the selected input signal there are several picture setup options available Vivid mode Presentation mode Gaming mode Video mode Cinema mode and Economic mode Refer to page 24 for more information Remote control effective range Infra Red IR remote control sensors are located on the front and the back of the projector The remote control must be held at an angle within 30 degrees of the projector s IR remote control sensors to function correctly The distance between the remote control and the sensors should not exceed 6 meters 20 feet C3 Notes on Remote Control Operation Make sure that there are no obstacles between the remote control and the IR sensors on the projector that might obstruct the infra red beam If the remote control stops working or if its effective range decreases replace the battery with new ones Installing or replacing the remote control battery A 1 Pull out the battery holder 2 Insert the new battery in the holder 3 Push the holder into the remote control Avoid excessive heat and humidity There may be danger of damage to the remote and injury to those nearby if the battery is incorrectly replaced Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer Dispose of the used battery according to the manufacturer s instruc
