17. ation connections Monitoring 1 Refer to Figure 5 2 and connect an ammeter to the jack plug cable as shown 2 Insert the jack plug into the test jack and use the ammeter to monitor the input current loop RED m TO MILLIAMMETER TO MILLIAMMETER NO CONNECTION BLACK GREEN Figure 5 2 Test jack monitoring connections 5 2 STD5000 amp STD6000 User Guide Thermo Fisher Scientific Chapter 6 Troubleshooting amp Support Exte rnal Note the following Filtration Failures due to instrument supply air contamination are not covered by original equipment warranty e Applying instrument air that is heavily laden with oil or water can cause the loss of unit output e Poor quality instrument air can result in unit failure We recommend placing a coalescent oil efficient filter upstream of each unit where oil and or water laden instrument air is suspected e We recommend providing proper filtration off the compressor for the removal of oil and water Proper filtration will ensure reliable long term operation with minimal maintenance e An external filter system is available from Thermo Fisher j Maintain supply air at pressures required by the output range Supply Pressure Regulation For standard configurations Although the units should not be damaged by excessive supply pressure elevated zero levels may result The maximum supply pressure is 10 psig above the maximum calibrated range For high pressure config
