7. ear Equipment installed below trees or other vegetation should be cleaned more frequently Use only water and mild soap e Clean the painted KOMPAN panels of any graffiti Do not use toxic or strong chemicals Please contact your local KOMPAN consultant for information on suitable products Galaxy Maintenance Instruction 4 17 Copyright KOMPAN A S V00028EU 180807 KRH KOM PANT Playful Living To check wood posts for deterioration All wood when exposed to wetness and weathering will deteriorate over time However protectors and preservatives used in KOMPAN s timber extend the life of the wood considerably over that of unprotected wood However as a playground structure is exposed to stresses in a variety of ways it is important to check on the condition of the wood at regular intervals TEST METHOD Move away surfacing to a depth of 15 cm around post and check wood for soundness by applying the three following tests 1 Sight test Observe appearance Wood should appear intact signs of deterioration or missing surface should be minimal Note KOMPAN wood is oversized so minor surface damage will not affect the structural integrity of the product 2 Sound test Knock with blunt instrument such as hammer There should be no noticeable difference in the sound when parts of the wood are knocked unless there are drilled holes or wood is wet in parts 3 Physical test Attempt to penetrate wood surface with a sharp instrument
