EN Installation manual IM 1449 1 9 3 Dampers 9 3 1 General To evacuate the right amount of air from a processing machine the correct airflow has to be set It is utterly important that the airflow is tuned in correctly for each machine A too low airflow means that dirty air will leak out from the machine into the workshop while a too high airflow may empty the machine of oil and the filter cassettes get unnecessary high loads with a shortened lifespan as a result Ideally EcoDrive is used to optimize the installation EcoDrive an optimized function that generates energy and environmental savings and provides a lower total cost LCC For installations without EcoDrive the correct airflow is set manually with an adjustable damper that is mounted on the filter unit or at the respective machine If a machine is evacuated by a filter unit equipped with EcoDrive the latter is used for the adjustment of the airflow If two or more machines are evacuated by one filter unit equipped with EcoDrive both adjustable dampers and closing valves need to be installed Adjustable dampers are used to set the correct airflow from each machine For more information about how closing valves work see chapter 9 3 3 Closing valves motor driven damper 9 3 2 Adjustable dampers Adjustable dampers shall be installed as close as possible to the suction point for each machine in order to set the correct airflow On the market there are plenty of diffe
