4. 4 and UP GRADE TOOL UPGRADE FIRMWARE DOWNLOAD TOOL INSTRUCTIONS to set your ID e unit to accept new firmware follow the steps below Start with the D e unit turned off Hit ENT to turn on as D e is booting up very quickly do 3 Immediately hit ENT once again before time and date appear Hit Up scroll then SET then ENT then Down Scroll then SET The screen will ask you Yes erase data or NO do not erase data Scroll UP and hit ENT for yes erase data ONCE AGAIN this must happen fast It may take you a few try s to get it right then Up Scroll once again to answer YES to the new firmware download YOUR SCREEN WILL SHOW READY FOR DOWNLOAD Then 7 Open the Idedlxla exe programe file 8 Set your COM PORT to the correct COM port for D e See device Mer 9 Pick LOAD FILE Then find and highlight the proper IDE BIN file 10 Hit AUTO RUN tab ICON to begin download The download will take a minuet or so to complete D e will turn off when done NOTE If you are Stuck in download mode and attempting a fix Follow steps 7 through 10 above only Page 11 ABOUT ID e the KEYS and MENU D e is simple Scan a card and see the AGE DOB EXP DATE No buttons need to be pressed in a typical check to complete checking the ID or Driver License D e can show most data on three screens that represent the way data is encoded on a Magnetic card S
