8. sleep mode power off mode option Idle Mode Automatic While the controller is waiting for print data its power consumption is automatically reduced to about 8mA with RS 232 interface connected LED off This value will vary with different compo nents and the external load of the interfaces When the controller is in idle mode it will directly receive print data or commands without corrup tion at any time Hardware handshake signals will be valid Sleep Mode Standard Energy Saving Mode The sleep mode is either initiated by command or automatically started after a time out period due to a preset reaction The default status upon delivery is sleep mode off with jumper J3 set on In sleep mode the power consumption is lowered to 20pA typical V 24 version For this the seri al interface outputs of the controller are first switched to a high ohm status Therefore the con troller has to be reactivated from this mode before it will be able to receive data again The reacti vation can be done by sending dummy characters through the serial interfaces RS 232 TTL sending dummy characters through the IR interface changing the level at the handshake line RTS serial e changing the level LOW gt gt HIGH at the strobe line parallel pressing the feed button See chapter 4 4 Power Down Modes on page 29 Power Off Mode Optional Component The power off mode is available as an option It can be initiated by

13. page 44 of 64 Thermal Printer Module for Integration e GPT 4312 e User Manual Programming and Erasing of Text Files The programming or erasing of files requires passwords On request these can be set separately for erasing and programming as well as for block 1 and block 2 GeBE uses the passwords PROG and ERAS 1B 73n Programming of text files with no 0 9 No PROG 50 52 4F 47 no name text file to be loaded e g 9 for T9 high no low PROG is the password protection from accidental erasing A text file can be programmed several times in a row even if the text files are not erased The last version is always valid A reorganization of the memory however does not occur With the next programming the memory space that was used for the first programming is lost unitl the next erasing occurs 255 x xh xl is the number of data bytes to be loaded without the com mand sequence data is a data string that contains the number of data bytes calculated by xh and xl speed is about 200 bytes s lt ESC gt s Q Attention As a standard theTINIT contains important parameters for setting the seri al interface the battery charge power down etc which are not automati cally adopted when the EEPROM is programmed For this reason the user should use the old parameters when he creates a new text file TINIT from the FLASH or a TINIT in the EEPROM previously programmed by GeBE and pr
