User s manual EREPROM 01A EPROM ERASER FS ELNEC EPROM Eraser EREPROM 01A The EREPROM 01A is an EPROM eraser featuring small dimensions high erasing efficiency and simple operation Up to five EPROMs in DIP packages up to 40 pins can be erased simultaneously A built in timer can be set to standard short and extended erasing period Specifications e Timer setting 7 5 15 and 30 min e Supply voltage 12VDC 500mA unstabilized e Dimensions 158 x 69 x 37mm length x width x height 6 2 x 2 72 x 1 45 e UV tube performance 4W e UV tube life gt 4000 hours Instructions for EREPROM 01 operation e Connect the power source the BUSY LED lights up green e Place EPROMs to be erased on a pad next to each other e Place the EREPROM 01A over the EPROMs the windows should be positioned under the discharge tube e Press the START button see below to determine the EPROM s erasure time The BUSY LED lights up red indicating that the UV discharge tube has started the process of erasing DO NOT LOOK AT THE DISCHARGE TUBE while the light is red e When the selected time interval expires the BUSY LED lights up green and the unit will beep Notes The START button serves to set up the timer to the desired time One press of the start button initiates the standard 15 minute erase cycle The interval can be shortened or extended by pressing the START button again see below The sound signal is generated at t2. he end of the erasing cycle If you feel the level of the sound signal is insufficient due to a noisy environment set the jumper near the bulb from HALF to FULL position access via 4 screws The manufacturer is not liable for problems resulting from the use of a power source different from the recommended one How to use START button e Press START button once to set erasing time to 15 minutes LED BUSY blinks once e Press START button twice to shorten erasing time to 7 5 minutes LED BUSY blinks twice e Press START button for more than 1 second to set extended 30 minutes erasing time LED BUSY blinks three times 2 CR ELNEC e Press START button three or more times to cancel previous setting and to stop erasing Important UV radiation is damaging to skin and eyesight Therefore keep the EREPROM 01A in its working position all through the erasing process The LED colour will safely indicate whether or not your EPROMs are erased Accessories e wall plug adapter 12V 500mA polarity don t care e Pad indicating UV lamp position
