Perfect re Your Source for Home Comfort 00 amp 70 PINT DEHUMIDIFIER e ane e With Ejector Pump USER MANUAL FOR MODEL 3PMP50 3PMP7 0 Before using your dehumidifier a please read this manual carefully and keep it for future reference along with your receipt aX Zn gt ey SO g RRC ot w Quick Start Tips It is highly suggested that the manual be read in full before operating the unit However the notes below are especially important in helping you to properly set up and begin to use your dehumidifier 1 The dehumidifier should be kept upright If for any reason it has not been stored upright while in your possession put the unit in an upright position for a minimum of 24 hours before running it 2 When first using the dehumidifier operate the unit on continuous mode for 24 hours First 24 hours on Continuous Mode Cont 3 After the first 24 hours should you wish to set a desired humidity you will need to take the unit off of Continuous You will not be able to select a desired humidity while the unit is set on Continuous mode NOTE You do not need to be in Continuous mode to do continuous draining 4 When unpacking the dehumidifier note that the foam inside the float piece of the bucket should NOT be removed Without this foam piece the dehumidifier will not operate properly VA Foam piece inside float mechanism aa DO NOT REMOVE this

Aire Consumer Services Unit malfunction Unplug the unit and plug it back in If error repeats call Perfect Aire Consumer Services E3 Setting the Timer If setting the timer when the unit is on First press the TIMER button the TIMER OFF indicator light illuminates It indicates the Auto Stop program is initiated Press the TIMER button again the TIMER ON indicator light illuminates It indicates the Auto Start program is initiated If setting the timer when the unit is off First press the TIMER button the TIMER ON indicator light illuminates It indicates the Auto Start program is initiated Press the TIMER button again the TIMER OFF indicator light illuminates It indicates the Auto Stop program is initiated Press or hold the UP or DOWN button to change the Auto time by 0 5 hour increments up to 10 hours then at 1 hour increments up to 24 hours The display will count down the time remaining until start The selected time will register in 5 seconds and the system will automatically revert back to displaying the previous temperature setting When the start and stop times are set within the same program sequence the TIMER ON and OFF indicator lights both illuminate identifying both ON and OFF times are now programmed Turning the unit ON or OFF at any time or adjusting the timer setting to 0 0 will cancel the Auto Start Stop timed program When the LED display window shows the code P2 the Automatic Star

UNIT e When first using the dehumidifier operate the unit on continuous mode for the first 24 hours See Continuous Operation on page 5 This helps the refrigerant settle in properly After the first 24 hours if you would like the unit to cycle on and off based around your desired humidity setting take the unit off of continuous mode and use the and buttons to set your desired humidity Putting the unit back on continuous mode will override any humidity setting you have set Fig 4a 16 in or more l Air intake grille Air outlet grille 8 in or more from wall 8 in or more from wall 8 in or more 8 in or more Casters at four points on the bottom of unit Casters can move freely e Do not force casters to move over carpet nor move the unit with water in the bucket The unit may tip over and spill water This unit is designed to operate with a working environment between 41 F 5 C and 95 F 35 C If the unit has been switched off and needs to be switched on again quickly allow approximately three minutes for the correct operation to resume Do not connect the dehumidifier to a multiple socket outlet that is also being used for other electrical appliances Select a suitable location making sure you have easy access to an electrical outlet Plug the unit into an electrical socket outlet that is grounded Make sure the water bucket is correctly inserted If it is not the

7. off and DEHUMIDIFIER on accordingly CONSTANTLY CYCLES The fan will run for a few minutes after the compressor shuts off If you have turned the Continuous mode on ON OFF the fan and compresser will not turn off they will run continuously in this mode Check that unit is level and the filter vents and bucket are thoroughly clean and nothing is obstructing them Be sure all doors windows and other openings are securely closed Ensure there is sufficient air circulation around the unit as well as between unit and floor Unplug unit for at least 5 minutes Plug back in unit remove and return bucket to dehumidifier and turn on ES AS P2 EC Eb or E3 Continued on next page 12 TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS CONTINUED Before calling for service please review the chart below Question Possible Solutions Be sure unit is not too large or too small for the area of the room Allow enough time for unit to remove moisture If set on Continuous Mode de select button and set unit to an appropriate humidity setting If humidity in room is above the set humidity then unit will be running DEHUMIDIFIER ALWAYS Be sure all doors windows and other openings are securely closed RUNNING Be sure unit is level and that there is sufficient air circulation around the unit as well as between unit and floor Make sure there are no curtains blinds or furniture blocking the unit Lower room temperature If unit is near a source of moisture such a
8. unit will not operate properly NOTE Always be careful when moving the unit especially as the water level rises in the bucket the higher the water level gets in the bucket the easier it is for the unit to fall over when being moved It is best to empty the bucket before moving the unit OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS CONTINUED REMOVING THE COLLECTED WATER There are three ways to remove collected water e Use the bucket e Continuous draining gravity takes water down hose into drain e Pump Draining bucket fills then pump drains water up to 16 ft Select only one of these draining options at a time Using multiple options simulaneously can result in leaking OPTION 1 Use the bucket e If the unit is off and the bucket is full the Full indicator light will illuminate 1 Pull out the bucket slightly If the unit is on and the bucket is full the compressor and the fan will turn off the Full indicator light will illuminate and the digital display will show P2 Slowly pull out the bucket Grip the left and right handles securely and carefully pull out straight so water does not spill Do not put the bucket on the floor as the bottom of the bucket is uneven doing so will cause the bucket to fall over and water to spill Fig 5 Pour out the water and replace the bucket The bucket must be secure and in the correct place for the dehumidifier to operate 2 Hold both sides of the bucket with even strength
9. water directly onto the main unit Doing so may cause an electrical shock the insulation to deteriorate or the unit to rust The air intake and outlet grilles get soiled easily use a vacuum attachment or brush to clean Clean the bucket Every few weeks clean the bucket to prevent growth of mold mildew and bacteria To clean the bucket partially fill it with clean water and add a little mild detergent Swish it around in the bucket empty and rinse NOTES Do not use a dishwasher to clean the bucket After cleaning the bucket must be securely in place for the dehumidifier to operate 3 Clean the air filter e Remove the filter every two weeks based on normal operating conditions Remove the filter from the top of the unit See Fig 17 Wash the filter with clean water Dry the filter completely in a cool dry place Re install the filter CAUTION DO NOT operate the dehumidifier without a filter as dirt and lint will clog the unit and reduce performance When not using the unit for long periods of time After turning off the unit wait one day before emptying the bucket This allows any water inside the unit enough time to drain into the bucket before you pack up the unit for storage Clean the main unit water bucket and air filter Dry all pieces completely Wrap the cord and bundle it with the band See Fig 18 Cover the unit with a plastic bag Store the unit upright in a dry well ventilat

Off The dehumidifier shuts off when the bucket is full removed or not placed in the proper position When the desired humidity setting is reached the unit will cycle off automatically Automatic Defrost When frost builds up on the evaporator coils the compressor will cycle off and the fan will continue to run until the frost disappears The unit will operate in Turbo fan speed during automatic defrost Wait 3 Minutes Before Resuming Operation After the unit has stopped it cannot begin operating again for 3 minutes This is to protect the unit Operation will automatically resume after 3 minutes Check Filter Feature The check filter light will automatically flash once per second when the accumulated operation time reaches 250 hours of operation or more The system starts to count the operation time once the fan motor operates After you finish cleaning the air filter press the Filter pad the Filter indicator light clears Automatic Restart If the unit breaks off unexpectedly as the result of having the power cut it will automatically restart with the previous function setting when the power resumes EC Unit Malfunction Please make sure the temperature of the environment is suitable for the proper operation of the unit The unit should be operated in an environment from 41 F 5 C 95 F 35 C If the unit s location falls in this temperature range and you continue to get the EC error code call Perfect

12. ain hose onto the adaptor A See Fig 9 Adaptor and short drain hose can be found inside the bucket e Remove the rubber plug from the back drain outlet of the unit set it aside and remove the bucket Make sure not to lose the rubber plug as it is required should you later choose an alternate drainage option Insert the drain hose assembly through the drain outlet on the back of of the unit and securely press it onto the connector on the front of the unit See Fig 10 and Fig 11 e Tighten adaptor A to the unit by using the two screws included with the unit These screws can be found in a pouch inside the packaging for this user manual e Install the female threaded end of the water hose onto adaptor A See Fig 12 Then lead the water hose to the floor drain or a suitable drainage facility e Make sure the hose is secure so there are no leaks e Make sure there are no kinks in the hose that will stop the water from flowing e Place the end of the hose into the drain The hose must be on a decline so gravity can take the water downward into the drain Make sure the end of the hose is level or downward to the drain never attempting to push water upwards e Place the bucket back in the unit making sure it is securely in the proper place e Select the desired humidity setting and fan speed on the unit for continuous draining to start You may choose to run the unit on Continuous mode so it runs all the time In Continuous
13. and the continuous drain hose is removed from the unit before the pump operation is activated When the bucket is full the pump starts to work Refer to the next pages for removing the collected water Do not use this operation when the outdoor temperature is equal to or less than 32 F 0 C FILTER Pad The check filter feature is a reminder to clean the air filter for more efficient operation The Filter light Clean Filter light will illuminate after 250 hours of operation To reset after cleaning the filter press the Filter pad and the light will go off FAN Pad Controls the fan speed Press to select either Turbo High or Normal fan speed Set the fan control to Turbo for maximum moisture removal When the humidity has been reduced and quiet operation is preferred take the fan off of Turbo so the unit runs on Normal POWER Pad Press to turn the dehumidifier on and off 7 High fan indicator light Continuous operation on indicator light Off Auto defrost D Auto defrost operation on indicator light DOWN amp UP Pads Humidity Set Control Pads The humidity level can be set within a range of 35 RH Relative Humidity to 85 RH in 5 increments For drier air press the pad and set to a lower percent value For damper air press the pad and set to a higher percent value Timer Set Control Pads Use the Up Down pads to set the Auto start and Auto stop time from 0 0 to 24 ho

18. nsure that they do not play with the air conditioner e Disabled persons may require assistance with set up and usage e f the power cord is to be replaced replacement work should be performed by authorized personnel only Installation and repair work must be performed in accordance with the national wiring standards by authorized personnel only NOTE All the illustrations in this manual are for explanation purposes only Unit purchased may be slightly different The design and specifications are subject to change without prior notice for product improvement Contact customer service for details ELECTRICAL INFORMATION e The manufacturers nameplate is located on the rear panel of the unit and contains electrical and other technical data specific to this unit e Be sure the unit is properly grounded To minimize shock and fire hazards proper grounding is important The power cord is equipped with a three prong grounding plug for protection against shock hazards e Your unit must be used in a properly grounded wall receptacle If the wall receptacle you intend to use is not adequately grounded or protected by a time delay fuse or circuit breaker have a qualified electrician install the proper receptacle e Ensure the receptacle is accessible after the unit installation e Do not use extension cords or an adaptor plugs with this unit However if it is necessary to use an extension cord use an approved dehumidifier extension cord only av
19. p is in operational failure Please turn off the unit and unplug the power cord Check the following things Fig 15 Pump Filter Clean the filter of the pump remove the bucket from the unit take down the pump and clean the filter of the pump by rinsing it with water See Fig 15 Check that the pump drain hose is not kinked or blocked Empty the water from the bucket f the built in pump hose drops when you remove the bucket see Fig 7 on page 8 you must reposition the pump hose properly in the unit before replacing the bucket in the unit See Fig 8 on page 8 Do not use the pump draining when the outdoor temperature is equal to or less than 32 F 0 C Attempting to drain outdoors when the temperature is 32 F 0 C or lower can cause water to freeze blocking 1 Press the pump drain up the hose and resulting in unit failure hose outlet in Make sure to empty the bucket once a week when using the pump draining option When the pump draining feature is not being used remove the pump drain hose from the outlet as described below To remove the pump drain hose press the pump drain hose outlet and remove the hose See Fig 16 Make sure not to let the water in the 10 CARE AND MAINTENANCE Turn the dehumidifier off and remove the plug from the wall outlet before cleaning 2 Clean the grille and case Use water and a mild detergent Do not use bleach or abrasives Do not splash
20. rt Hose instructed on page 8 making sure to replace the rubber plug over the continuous drain hole See Fig 13 Continuous draining and pump draining should not be used simultaneously Continuous Insert the 16 ft pump drain hose enclosed into the pump drain hose Aaa Hoke outlet at least 5 8 See Fig 14 Lead the drain hose to the floor drain or a Suitable drainage facility Press the pump pad button on the control pad of the unit to activate the pump operation When the bucket is partially full the pump starts to work NOTE The pump may be very noisy for the first 3 5 minutes after it starts working This is normal Make sure the hose is secure so there are no leaks Direct the hose toward the drain making sure that there are no kinks that will stop the water from flowing Place the end of the hose into the drain The hose iteself may be directed vertically but make sure the end of the hose is level or Pump drain downward If the very end of the hose is facing upward water may hose have difficulty draining Pump drain hose outlet Select the desired humidity setting and fan speed on the unit for the unit to start Alternatively you may choose to run the unit on Continuous mode so it runs all the time rather than cycling on and off based around your humidity setting In Continuous mode you will not be able to set a desired humidity setting The pump operation indicator light blinks when the pum
21. s a sink shower washing machine etc then relocate unit Check that filter vents and bucket are thoroughly clean Be sure hose is CLEAN pliable and no longer than 6 feet in length recommended Clear tubing with sizing of 5 8 inch for the outer diameter and 1 2 inch for inner diameter is recommended Hose should be secure on both ends being especially mindful that it is pushed all the way onto connector piece inside unit Hose should exit through the back of unit and always be positioned at a DOWNWARD slope to the desired drain location CONTINUOUS DRAIN If using garden hose attached to adaptor piece be sure connection is secure throughout NOT WORKING PROPERLY Be sure nothing is obstructing hose connection and there are no kinks or tears in any of the hosing Ensure unit is level and not tilted forward and that bucket is pushed in all the way Though the unit may appear level if the surface it sits on is even slightly uneven and the front of the unit is tilted downward continuous draining may not work If necessary slightly prop up the front two wheels of the unit taking care that the unit does not fall backward Check that filter vents and bucket are thoroughly clean If water is going into bucket instead of hose the unit is working properly Please double check all of the above and or un hook hosing set up and start again Make sure the dehumidifer s plug is pushed completely into the outlet Check the fuse circuit breaker
22. t Stop function will also be canceled A NOTE ABOUT THE TIMER When you set the timer the unit will only go on once and off once If you want the dehumidifier to cycle on and off repeatedly you do not need to set the timer Instead set your desired humidity and the unit will cycle on and off based on that humidity setting OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS POSITIONING THE UNIT A dehumidifier operating in a basement will have little or no effect in drying an adjacent enclosed storage area such as a closet unless there is adequate circulation of air in and out of the area Do not use outdoors This dehumidifier is intended for indoor residential applications only This dehumidifier should not be used for commercial or industrial applications Place the dehumidifer on a smooth level floor strong enough to support the unit with a full bucket of water Allow at least 8 inches of air space on all sides of the unit for good air circulation Place the unit in an area where the temperature will not fall below 41 F 5 C The coils can become covered with frost at temperatures below 41 F 5 C which may reduce performance Place the unit away from the clothes dryer heater and radiator Use the unit to prevent moisture damage anywhere books or valuables are stored The dehumidifier must be operated in an enclosed area to be most effective Close all doors windows and other outside openings to the room WHEN USING THE
