SHUTTERBOSS VERSION II USER MANUAL VELLO INTRODUCTION Thank you for choosing the Vello ShutterBoss This device is more than just a remote shutter release It features many timer functions self timer interval timer long exposure timer as well as controls for the number of continuous shutter trips Powered by two AAA batteries it can take approximately two months of continuous shots with a delay of 5 minutes between exposures and an exposure length of 4 56 You can set the timer delays exposure times and intervals up to 99 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds in one second increments You can select anywhere from 1 to 399 continuous shots or set the device to take an unlimited number of photos The LCD screen has a backlit function for low light conditions The Vello ShutterBoss is great for time lapse recording of blooming flowers astrophotography etc We have added two new features in Ver Il 1 POWER OFF option This feature gives the ability to power the device off to conserve battery life 2 RESET option This feature allows the ShutterBoss to be reset to the default factory settings so that each setting doesn t need to be reset individually SAFETY WARNINGS There are no user serviceable parts inside the device Do not attempt to disassemble or perform any unauthorized modification Do not operate the ShutterBoss in the presence of flammable gas or vapors Do not handle with

8. er of Shots Indicator TIMER ACTIVE Indicator RELEASE Indicator SET Indicator CONNECT TO THE CAMERA The ShutterBoss comes in a variety of models that are compatible with different cameras The only difference in ShutterBoss models is the connector on the end of the cable Your ShutterBoss and camera may look different from those pictured in this guide 1 Make certain the camera is turned OFF 2 Make certain the TIMER ACTIVE and RELEASE indicators are not displayed on the ShutterBoss 3 Move the camera s remote cord socket cover to expose the remote cord jack and connect the ShutterBoss Look for this symbol Many camera manufacturers use it to indicate the jack for connecting remote devices 6 POWER RESET INSTRUCTIONS Press and hold TIMER START STOP for approximately 3 seconds to power the Shutterboss timer on or off Simultaneously press LOCK and TIMER START STOP to clear the current timer information OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS With the ShutterBoss you can release your camera s shutter manually or by using the internal timer Every camera handles remote switches differently Be sure to follow the instructions on using remote switches in your camera s manual as well as the steps in this guide Do not attempt to change any timer settings during exposures or during delay or interval countdowns Manual Release The ShutterBoss can be used manually even when there are no batteries in the dev

10. ice The display panel will be off and no beep will sound Timed Release The ShutterBoss allows you to select any combination of the following Delay time before the shutter is tripped Exposure time or you can set this on the camera Interval the amount of time between a sequence of shots The number of shots to take in sequence You can even set the ShutterBoss to take photos until you tell it to stop MANUAL RELEASE The ShutterBoss can be used manually even when there are no batteries in the device The display panel will be off and no beep will sound To use the ShutterBoss manually 1 After connecting the ShutterBoss to your camera adjust your camera settings Choose your exposure mode shutter speed focus mode and shooting mode 2 Press the shutter release button halfway on the ShutterBoss The camera will focus if set to Auto Focus 3 Press full on the shutter release button to take the photo Release the button to end shooting The shutter release button can also be used to release the shutter while the timer is active The shutter will release and the timer will continue its countdown To lock the pressed shutter button slide the shutter release button forward If your camera is set to Bulb mode the shutter will stay open until you slide the locked shutter button back and release it SELF TIMER DELAYED RELEASE Cursor The self timer on your camera is limited in 3 Use
