EDGE TECH CORP More Power To You SecureGuard User Manual Secure your personal data with SecureGuard password protection software SecureGuard has two partitions One of the partitions is 1 44MB same size as a floppy drive plus available flash memory The rest of the capacity is allocated for normal use as shown below Two Positions 1 FDD Floppy Disk state 2 HDD Hard Drive state SecureGuard Features 1 Allows user to set unique password maximum 16 characters 2 Allows user to enter a password hint maximum 32 characters 3 Automatically formats the HDD part of the USB Disk Pro when enter wrong password 6 times IMPORTANT When using SecureGuard only ONE DiskGO USB Flash Drive is allowed in use DO NOT PLUG IN TWO OR MORE FLASH DRIVES AT THE SAME TIME Windows 2000 2000 SP1 2000 SP2 Users Windows 2000 can only support ONE removable disk drive per USB port Be sure to follow these procedures when using SecureGuard in a Windows 2000 environment 1 Switch to HDD mode 2 Plug your DiskGO USB Flash Drive into the USB port and wait until Windows recog nizes the device 3 Remove your DiskGO USB Flash Drive from the USB port 4 Switch to FDD mode 5 Re insert your DiskGO USB Flash Drive into the USB port 6 Copy the security application program exe file to your desktop 7 Remove your DiskGO USB Flash Drive from the USB port 8 Switch back to HDD mode 9 Re insert the DiskGO USB Flash Drive

3. will pop up This message window tells you that the device will be automatically locked after you remove the device from the USB port 6 Once you have set up the password correctly you will notice the change in Password Exist Status NOTE When you remove the device from your USB port and re insert it the device will automatically be locked If you try to access it you will get an error message error message varies per Operating System If you execute the Security AP you will see that the device is LOCKED Apparatus B Change Password 1 To change your password click Change Password 2 You will be promted to enter your current password 3 Now enter a new password maximum 16 characters 4 Re enter to confirm Note i It is not necessary to change your password hint when you change your password ii Password hint can only be edited when a new password is setup Password hint cannot be changed without changing your password iii Use Show Password to see what you have typed Apparatus C Password Hint When you change your password you can also change your Password Hint 1 Enter a hint of your choice maximum 32 characters long 2 Press Password Hint any time to get your reminder Apparatus D Unlock Device 1 If you have setup a password you must Unlock before you can access the HDD of your DiskGO USB Flash Drive Select Unlock to enter password 2 Enter
