VETTE NEWS Volume 34 Issue 2 February 2015 What s Happening President s Corner Hello everyone February 14 Club Meeting The bad thing is we are still in winter mode but the good thing is we have gotten to February so that means we have just a couple of months and we can seriously think about uncovering those beautiful cars of ours The first car show of the years is in February and is the Cavalcade of Cars at the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg If anyone who has not been there in a while I must say it s getting better One of our own members Gene Colucci will be showing his 1963 Split window corvette so if you get a chance come and support Gene and the gang at the show I will see what I can do about having a nice sunny day with temps in the 40 s HaHaHaHaHa This month we also have our Pizza Party after our meeting so if you plan on coming PLEASE make sure you contact Lynda amp Bruce Graham so they can count you in Just a reminder as of February 1 you can register for the 56 NCCC convention in the Pocono s as it has been said this will probably be the closest the conventions will come to us So if you were thinking of making one this would be the one We are still hoping to see if someone is putting together a winter cruse to your favorite restaurant The club did 3 or 4 last year and it was a lot of fun The restaurant should be somewhere that can hold 15 20 people or more Drive Safe

6. e the February meeting and enjoy the pizza party too Skip Polowy Fa Ve TE ex os i a ie W ll rf i e jw biG ai fi lii nii W tds A i CORVETTES of BUFFALO pg 5 Sunday December 7 2014 How fitting it was to have our Christmas Brunch on Pearl Harbor Day an important date in the history of our country It was also wonderful to have two Marines as our guests as they collected our contributions to Toys For Tots We started checking out possible banquet facilities in February 2014 to make a selection before they were all booked up We stayed away from Southwestern Blvd and other locations near Ralph Wilson Stadium because the Bills schedule had not yet been published We didn t want people stuck in game traffic while traveling to our Brunch Once we decided on The Fairdale Banquet Facility we had a meeting with their Banquet Manager Carol She was very helpful with her suggestions for the menu and d cor table linens etc It s been a tradition to have a centerpiece on each table for our members to enjoy and for one lucky person to take home We thought of a few ideas that would work and found some great pieces at the new Hobby Lobby on sale for reasonable prices We want to thank everyone who attended our Christmas Brunch in December Oh And all the Corvette pictures in the power point were really a nice touch Lowell amp Karen Rothenberger CORVETTES of BUFFALO pg 6 Before the 2015

10. stop by my booth for a breath of fresh air treats and then some Gene Colucci CORVETTES of BUFFALO pg 4 Looking Forward to the Spring Corvette Season February is the middle of the cold long winter season that provides plenty of time for us to think about enjoying our Corvettes when the weather warms up Many of us already have some ideas and planned upgrades for your corvette s and I am sure some members will be thinking of things that need to get done to maintain or improve your car as the season begins We all enjoy and have beautiful corvettes regardless of the year color options mileage or condition There are some members that recently upgraded to the new 2014 or 2015 C7 and other members that are in the various stages of restoring a classic corvette I can t wait until spring to see all the club cars at one of our activities The Memorial Day Parade in Williamsville chaired by John Heffernan is always a great event to see show and enjoy each other s cars I hope you can join us at this event As I write this I will share that there is a new 2015 C7 in my plans for the spring but I am still deciding on which of the many options color etc to select I also need to decide do I keep my 2005 C6 do I sell it or should I trade in I would like to know what you think I should do or what you would do in the same dilemma Please share your comments thoughts and ideas when I see you at the February Pizza party I hope you mak
