Advanced Service And Parts LLC 1276 Fonderwhite Road Lebanon PA 17042 Tech Support Line 717 274 9396 WARNING READ THIS NOTICE BEFORE INSTALLING YOUR MODEL 720305 REGULATOR To extend the trouble free operation and life of your generator we recommend that before installing your new Model 720305 Replacement Regulator a qualified generator mechanic should perform the preventive maintenance procedures listed below Failure to do this can damage the Regulator and thus may void its Warranty Your new Model 720305 replacement regulator is designed to replace ONAN EMERALD SERIES P N 305 0782 01 305 0809 01 MICROLITE P N 305 0851 and the MARQUIS regulator 305 0826 It cannot be substituted for ONAN part numbers 305 0809 02 03 and 04 As of June 2002 we have had several reports of the unit being used to successfully replace part number 305 0809 05 Note Under load if the engine is not running properly or miss adjusted this will cause an increase in the current demand for J4 10 This can over heat the voltage regulator the greater the load the greater the current demand This will greatly shorten the life of the regulator be it our Replacement or an ONAN Original Refer to the ONAN service manual that came with the generator see Engine Primary System for Governor Troubleshooting and adjustment Preventive Maintenance Procedure WARNING Only a qualified generator mechanic should perform the maintenance To remove old2. voltage regulator e Remove air cleaner e Remove generator access cover e Remove brush block amp brushes e Hold a commutator stone ONAN tool 420 0259 against slip rings Crank engine 5 8 seconds and follow with a rest period so the starter will not over heat repeat until rings are clean amp pits removed e Test rotor for proper resistance see service manual e Test rotor for grounds e Reinstall brush block and brushes make sure brushes are free in holder Install new part 720305 replacement regulator You will not need the extra 2 wires that attached to the capacitor on the original regulator of some models Just tape them amp secure out of the way NOTE If carburetor is not functioning properly causing rough running or surges this will cause strain on the Regulator and may void warranty NOTICE Advanced Service And Parts LLC is not responsible for improper use or application of this regulator Once installed used or plugged in it cannot be returned Please be sure you determine that this is the correct model before ordering
