Tusk Handlebar Grip Heater Kit Attention Refer to your service manual for your machine s specific wiring information Professional installation may be required if you are unfamiliar with the process Note Compatible thumb heater also available from Tusk Instructions l 6 ra e WT Wes KK Instructions Remove grips They can be cut off or insert a screwdriver between the grip and handle bar to loosen the grip while working it off Clean the handlebar Use contact cleaner or brake cleaner to remove any rubber glue or residue Put a light coat of grip glue on the handlebar and inside of the heater grip Push the grip completely on the handlebar while twisting it to distribute the grip glue evenly Make sure the wires don t interfere with any other controls on the handlebars Install the digital heat controller in a practical location by either using the self adhesive pad or the handlebar mount Make sure there is enough room for electrical connections Note If using the handlebar mount here is a small rubber pad that needs to be installed into the narrow side of the mount This keeps the mount secure to the bars On the wiring harness attach the black wire to a suitable ground Negative source a Manual start models Take the red wire from the wire harness and connect it to the magneto yellow wire b Electric start models Take the red wire from the wire harness and connect it to the veh2. icle s accessory wire Positive source Refer to the wiring diagram below for final wiring There is no polarity on the left and right grip so they can be connected voluntary Fasten wires to the machine handlebar frame etc with zip ties or electrical tape Make sure wiring does not interfere with steering or other controls This should be a switched power circuit otherwise the heated grips could drain the battery when the vehicle is not in use switch blue white red 12 volt black ground
