CONDITIONS WHERE IT IS TILTED MORE THAN 15 DEGREES IN ANY DIRECTION ASSEMBLING HOSE TO UNIT NOTE This unit is equipped with a safety kill switch When the hose adapter assembly see page 8 is removed from the front cover the kill switch grounds the engine stopping the unit CAUTION For NO REASON should the hose be removed from the collar while the machine is in operation This will allow the unit to remain running with no covering over the intake opening in the blower housing Loose clothing and personal items could be drawn into unit causing serious injury Feeding debris into open housing by hand could also cause serious injury BEFORE OPERATING THE MACHINE CAUTION The engine contains NO OIL Before starting the engine make sure the crankcase is filled with the proper amount and type of oil Refer to the engine operating manual for proper lubrication of the engine Read the engine manual carefully before operating unit Be sure to know how to start and stop the engine CAUTION Some method of containing debris must be used The container must fit tightly around exit chute and have no major openings that would allow debris to fly out Running the unit without a container could cause damage to truck and seriously injure operator or persons nearby An optional collector bag MA 607D is available from Parker Sweeper for containing debris being picked up making removal and dumping of debris much easier WARNING Although the unit is

10. ng operation the engine may be stopped at any time by pulling down on the safety interlock switch To restart the engine return the safety interlock switch to its original position and restart the engine using the key switch 10 GENERAL MAINTENANCE For servicing and operating instructions refer to the Engine Manufacturer s Service Manual included with this machine Careful attention to care of the air cleaner and crankcase lubrication instructions will ensure longer engine life KEEP ENGINE CLEAN This machine is equipped with an Hour Meter that keeps a running total of the number of hours the engine is run Refer to the Hour Meter to determine if the engine requires any scheduled maintenance see Engine Service Manual NOTE The hour meter is tied to the key switch If the engine is stopped using the safety interlock switch the key switch must be turned to the off position to stop the hour meter Be sure to keep the oil at the proper level in the engine Check the oil level each time the fuel tank is filled Clean the engine air cleaner every ten hours of operation Do so more often under dusty conditions If the air cleaner is punctured torn or too dirty to be cleaned it should be replaced Check the hose and blower housing before each use to make sure excessive debris hasn t built up If debris has collected remove it before operating the machine WARNING Do not perform any maintenance work in the vicinity of the impeller
