Steering Shaft only for BCM Coupling N replacement Mounting B Body Control Module BCM BCM Harness Connectors Disconnect for installing BCM sub harness TPO50654 8 Connect the fuse end of the BCM Sub Harness to the BCM as shown in Figure 7 e Make sure the connectors are securely connected snapped in place to the BCM CO is Mi ie A TP050655 Figure 7 7 16 9 At the other end of the BCM Sub Harness e Connect the White Connector to the vehicle side harness white connector see Figure 8a e Then connect the Black Connector to the vehicle side harness black connector see Figure 8b Harness Black BCM Sub Connector Harness White Vehicle Side Connector BCM White Connector TPO50656 TPO50657 Figure 8a Figure 8b 10 Secure the new BCM Sub Harness to the Existing Vehicle Harness see Figure 9 e Use the Tie Wrap that comes already attached to the new Sub Harness Figure 9 11 Re connect the negative battery cable 12 Confirm the installed BCM Sub Harness does not interfere with the operation of the adjustable pedal assembly NOTE It is okay if the BCM Sub Harness has slight contact with the adjustable pedal assembly when the pedal assembly is adjusted to the end of its upward travel closest to the driver 8 16 13 For vehicles without a trailer lights wiring connector confirm BCM operation as follows a b C Turn the ignition switch O

Panel Lower Cover see Figure 13 e Carefully pull the Cover rearward to release the Securing Clips e Disconnect all Harness Connectors from the Lower Cover Ke U aS Driver s Side Instrument Panel Lower Cover Remove TP050642 Figure 13 11 16 7 Remove two Bolts and remove the Knee Protector Brace see Figure 14 Knee Protector Brace TP050643 Figure 14 8 If the BCM needs to be replaced as confirmed by Procedure A Terminal Check go ahead and replace the BCM now Then continue with step 10 next page e Remove all three Harness Connectors from the BCM see Figure 15 e Remove the two BCM Mounting Bolts and remove BCM see Figure 15 e Install the new BCM e Reconnect the RH connector ONLY as viewed in Figure 15 9 If the BCM does not need to be replaced e Install the new Sub Harness e Start by disconnecting ONLY the two horizontal Connectors at the BCM see Figure 15 BCM Connector Disconnect ONLY When Replacing BCM VETE NAY Shaft 8 Ye 4 Coupling XS AL Nat Ve BCM Mounting D AD Q4 f VAS Bolts Remove ONLY when replacing BCM Disconnect for BCM Sub Harness Installation N e ar AB Front O Body Control OW Module BCM TP050644 Figure 15 12 16 10 Connect the fuse end of the BCM Sub Harness to the BCM as shown in Figure 16 e Make sure the connectors are securely connected Snapped in place to the BCM 1 Ke PRS VOM La N

F 3 Using a Test Light check for power at terminals 2 and 5 see Figure 2 e If there is power at either terminal replace the BCM Return to the Repair Flow Chart for further instructions e If there is NO power at either terminal the circuit is OK Return to the Repair Flow Chart for further instructions Test Light Comes ON When Touching 2 or 5 7 Terminal Trailer Lights Wiring Connector Trailer Hitch Test Light Does Not Come ON When Touching 2 or 5 TP050659a Figure 2 4 Turn the ignition switch OFF 4 16 PROCEDURE B BCM SUB HARNESS INSTALLATION amp BCM REPLACEMENT NOTE Procedure B Sub Harness Install BCM Replace is split up into two sections e Section 1 For Titan Armada vehicles e Section 2 For Pathfinder Frontier Xterra vehicles CAUTION Use suitable covers to protect upholstery carpet trim etc when performing this procedure Section 1 Titan Armada Procedure 1 If you determined the BCM needs to be replaced from Procedure A Terminal Check e First perform BCM Read Configuration using CONSULT II e Todo this refer to READ CONFIGURATION PROCEDURE in section BCS in the applicable service manual 2 Record all radio station presets and then disconnect the negative battery cable CAUTION The complete repair needs to be conducted within one hour of disconnection of the battery If the battery is left disconnected for longer than one hour the idle setting m

N Place your hand on the new BCM Sub Harness Activate the left turn indicator blinker and confirm a click is felt heard each time the left turn indicator light flashes Activate the right turn indicator blinker and confirm a click is felt heard each time the right turn indicator light flashes Apply the brake pedal and confirm a click is felt heard when the brake lights come on If you feel hear a clicking noise when performing steps c d and e go to the next step If you do not feel hear a clicking noise when performing steps c d and e replace the BCM then go to the next step 14 Re install all components in reverse order of removal 15 Re program all radio station presets 16 If the BCM was replaced you ll need to do the following IMPORTANT You MUST perform the following steps according to the applicable service manual to ensure the new BCM is properly programmed to the original vehicle settings BCM Write Configuration using CONSULT II Refer to WRITE CONFIGURATION PROCEDURE in section BCS of the applicable service manual Initialization of NATS System and Registration of all NATS Ignition Key I D s Refer to Nissan Technical Bulletin NTBO3 031b I D Registration Procedure of the Low Tire Pressure Warning System Refer to I D REGISTRATION PROCEDURE in section WT of the applicable service manual Register I D Code for

RMINAL CHECK Check the condition of the BCM by performing a terminal check at the Trailer Lights Wiring Connector near the trailer hitch as follows Procedure A Terminal Check is split up into two sections e Section 1 For vehicles with a 4 terminal Trailer Lights Wiring Connector e Section 2 For vehicles with a 7 terminal Trailer Lights Wiring Connector NOTE For vehicles without a trailer lights wiring connector the BCM condition will be checked later in Procedure B Section 1 Vehicles Equipped With 4 terminal Trailer Lights Wiring Connector 1 Turn the ignition switch to the ON position 2 Make sure the combination switch and hazard switch are OFF 3 Using a Test Light check for power at terminals 3 and 4 see Figure 1 e If there is power at either terminal replace the BCM Return to the Repair Flow Chart for further instructions e If there is NO power at either terminal the circuit is OK Return to the Repair Flow Chart for further instructions a Test Light Comes ON Wi Lights Wiring Connector When Touching 3 or 4 4 Terminal Trailer NE a iin Trailer Hitch 12 3 4 Test Light Does Not Come ON When Touching 3 or 4 TP050650a Figure 1 4 Turn the ignition switch OFF 3 16 Section 2 Vehicles Equipped With 7 terminal Trailer Lights Wiring Connector 1 Turn the ignition switch to the ON position 2 Make sure the combination switch and hazard switch are OF

9. ay be lost and the vehicle may have difficulty starting AM FM1 FM2 3 Remove the Driver s Side Instrument Panel Lower Cover see Figure 3 e Remove two Screws at the lower corners of the Lower Cover e Carefully pull the cover rearward to release the securing clips e Disconnect all wire harness connectors from the panel Driver s Side Instrument Panel Lower Cover Remove TPO50651 Figure 3 5 16 4 Remove four Bolts and remove the Driver s Side Lower Knee Protector see Figure 4 Driver s Side Lower Knee Protector Remove Bolts Remove Figure 4 5 Remove the LH Instrument Lower Cover next to the Accelerator Pedal see Figure 5 e Carefully pull outward to release the Securing Clips LH Instrument Lower Cover Remove TP050653 Figure 5 6 16 6 If the BCM needs to be replaced as confirmed by Procedure A Terminal Check go ahead and replace the BCM now Then continue with step 8 below e Remove all three Harness Connectors from the BCM see Figure 6 e Remove the two BCM Mounting Bolts and remove BCM see Figure 6 e Install new BCM e Reconnect the top connector ONLY as viewed in Figure 6 7 If the BCM does not need to be replaced e Install the new Sub Harness e Start by disconnecting ONLY the two vertical Connectors at the BCM see Figure 6 wv g A BCM Mounting Bolt 2 BCM Harness Connector 7 Disconnect
