1. do ddd Installation and Troubleshooting Guide Hectronics i All rights reserved Reproduction or use of content in any manner without express written permission by CDI Electronics Inc is prohibited CDI P N 116 2379K2 NOTE This unit will replace the following P N s F12379 F712475 FK12369 and FK12379 BIM Coil Kit Installation Guide 9 9 amp 15 HP 2 Cylinder Engine Zi oe oy ve 10 Remove rope start housing flywheel and old BIM modules Install the coil trigger CD assemblies on the stator frame according to the picture below The coil trigger assembly closest to the carburetor is for cylinder 1 Firmly press the coil trigger assemblies onto the frame and bend the top lamination up and the bottom lamination down wedging the coil trigger assemblies in place Connect the black lead from the coil trigger CD assemblies to the ground bolt with the brown wire on the stator plate Be careful not to leave the wires where they will rub against the flywheel Connect the Black yellow wire to the kill terminal with the brown wire Using the plastic washers and plastic screw Route the Green wires from coil trigger CD assemblies through the holes in the stator plate Install the flywheel according to the service manual Install the rope start housing leaving out the two back bolts Route the two back rope start housing bolts through the new ignition coil brackets then through the rope start housing mount the new ignit2. ion coil Connect the wire from the coil trigger assembly to the right ignition coil tower and the wire from the 2 coil trigger sembly to the left ignition coil tower Connect the left high tension lead to the 2 cylinder spark plug and the right high tension lead to the 1 cylinder spark plug Troubleshooting No Fire on one cylinder Swap the white green coil leads and see if the problem moves to the other cylinder If it does the CD Coil module under the flywheel is bad or cross wired No change indicates a bad ignition coil No Fire on any cylinder l 2 Disconnect the kill switch and retest if you now have spark replace the kill switch Check the Black Yellow wires for a short to engine ground CDI Electronics 111 Commerce Circle e Madison AL 35758 Tech support 1 866 423 4832 e Web support cdielectronics com Sales Support 1 800 467 3371 All rights reserved Reproduction or use of content in any manner without express written permission by CDI Electronics Inc is prohibited Rev A e 8 3 11 Page 1 of 1 QF 319
