20. inch hard drive slots 14 About Your System LCD Panel Features The system s LCD panel provides system information and status messages to signify when the system is operating correctly or when the system needs attention See LCD Status Messages for information on specific status codes The LCD backlight lights blue during normal operating conditions and lights amber to indicate an error condition When the system is in standby mode the LCD backlight is off and can be turned on by pressing the Select button on the LCD panel The LCD backlight will remain off if LCD messaging is turned off through the iDRAC utility the LCD panel or other tools Figure 1 3 LCD Panel Features lt gt Item Buttons Description l Left Moves the cursor back in one step increments 2 Select Selects the menu item highlighted by the Cursor 3 Right Moves the cursor forward in one step increments During message scrolling Press once to increase scrolling speed e Press again to stop e Press again to return to default scrolling speed e Press again to repeat the cycle 4 System ID Turns the system ID mode on and off Press quickly to toggle the system ID on and off If the system hangs during POST press and hold the system ID button for more than five seconds to enter BIOS Progress mode About Your System 15 Home Screen The Home screen displays user configurable information about the system This screen
21. lt Enter gt twice in the system password menu Using the Setup Password Assigning a Setup Password You can assign a setup password only when the Setup Password is Not Enabled To assign a setup password highlight the Setup Password option and press the lt gt or lt gt key The system prompts you to enter and verify the password Z NOTE The setup password can be the same as the system password If the two passwords are different the setup password can be used as an alternate system password The system password cannot be used in place of the setup password You can use up to 32 characters in your password As you type placeholders appear in the field 72 Using the System Setup Program and UEFI Boot Manager The password assignment is not case sensitive To erase a character press lt Backspace gt or the left arrow key When you verify the password the Setup Password changes to Enabled The next time you enter the System Setup program the system prompts you for the setup password A change to the Setup Password option becomes effective immediately restarting the system is not required Operating With a Setup Password Enabled If Setup Password is Enabled you must enter the correct setup password before modifying most of the System Setup options If you do not enter the correct password in three attempts the system lets you view but not modify the System Setup screens The following options are exceptions
