3. the leg perpendicular to the footplate you should pay extra attention when lifting to avoid overstretching the knee joint A molift designed for life molift QUICK RAISER e Place the Molift Easy Raiser sling under the arms and around the back of the patient as far down as possible Connect the belt and tighten firmly Fasten the sling to the lifting arm by pulling the ropes firmly into the rope locks from the inside and out as shown in the illustration When lifting the patient the ropes will lock even tighter due to the weight of the patient The patient should grab and hold the handlebars of the lifting arm if pos sible O If the patient is large and heavy it is recom mended to lock the rope from the outside and in to increase the width of the ropes This will reduce any pinching effect to the patients chest Page 13 of 20 molitt QUICK RAISER e On QR2 the ropes is attached to the lifting arm bt pulling them firmly from above into the rope locks as shown on the illustration The ropes must be tightened firmly to avoid them sling to much when lifting the patient The rope will lock itself due to the weight of the patient but if sliding too much before locking it may cause an uneven lift and dis comfort for the patient A e Raise the patient carefully until the buttocks are clear from the seating Unlock the wheels on the lifter and move the patient to the next location Page 14 of
4. actly aligned with the edge of the chassis If the column stops before the arrow has reached the edge you will have to retract the molift designed for life molift QUICK RAISER column and try turning the motor spline head to align it with the connector at the base of the col umn Do not use force to press the column down When the column is in place release the column fixing bolt and let the plate with bolts slide into the corresponding groove on the chassis Tighten the bolts firmly using the tool found at the top of the column The QR2 column has a pin in the bottom to be fitted in the chassis e Slide the driving handle onto the top of the col umn by guiding the head of the fixing knob into the T groove of the column The handle shall be pointing upwards Tighten the knob firmly when the handle is in the desired position e Guide the wire of the hand control through the ring at the base of the drive handle and insert the contact into the chassis connector The hand con trol has a hook enabling it to hang on the handle e Attach the lifting arm QR2 Remove the security ring from the lifting arm Assemble the lifting arm by holding it ap prox parallel to the column and guide the hook of the arm onto the two bolts of the trolley The arm is now attached to the trolley Mount the se curity ring QR2 Place the lifting arm install the bolt and at tach with the screws Torque 28 Nm If the lifting arm appear

6. arger The battery charger shall be mounted on a vertical wall surface close to a power outlet The charger shall be connected to the power outlet at all times Molift AS tests and charges all batteries be fore packing and shipment However all bat teries must be charged before use Unpacking e The lifter comes in a cardboard box Verify that the box has no apparent damage If damaged check the contents and contact your dealer for as sistance if components are damaged e The box contains chassis lifting column knee support lifting arm drive handle hand control battery battery charger and documentation Make sure that the different parts have the same lifting capacity If in doubt the part with the lowest capacity is the ruling Assembly of lifter The battery must not be in the battery holder on the column during assembly Assemble the kneepad bracket first by sliding it onto the lifting column In order to do that you must first remove the column fixing bolts and plate Guide the knee support bracket onto the column with the head of the fixing knob into the T groove on the column Slide the bracket up the column to the desired position and tighten the knob Retrieve the column fixing bolts and plate and slide it into the T groove at the base of the col umn and approx 25mm up Tighten one of the screws slightly to fix the plate Insert the col umn into the chassis the arrow on the column side shall be ex

11. damage to the equipment The lifter must be taken out of service immediately or not returned to serv ice if faults and or irregularities that may have in fluence on the safety are discovered Safety devices and equipment must not be re moved disabled or in any other way altered A Molitt QUICK RAISER shall only be used when all safety devices and equipment is in place and fully operational Com The lifter is designed for use in room tem perature 10 to 40 C This should be taken into consideration when transporting the lifter and therefore keeping it in a tem perate part of the vehicle Alternatively the lifter must rest in a temperate room until the equipment has achieved proper working tem perature Use under moist or wet conditions The lifter is splash proof If used in conjunction with shower equipment a protective plastic bag must be used to cover the operator panel Avoid direct show ering of the lifter Permanent use in shower rooms 1s not recommended and can over time lead to corro sion of details on the lifter If used in shower rooms it is mandatory to prevent excessive use of water as well as increasing service and maintenance Page 4 of 20 If defects or faults occur The lifter must be switched off immediately if one of the following conditions occur e damage to electrical devices or cables or damage to parts of electrical insulation e damage or failure on safety devices If the expected movem

14. ight be traced back to ma nufacturing is offered The extended warranty period is offered under the condition that the regulations described here are completely fulfilled and that the product has been used according to its intentions The extended warranty is valid for a period of 5 five years starting at the date of purchase limited to 3 months after the production year week The extended warranty is offered in addition to the local sale of goods act It is mandatory that the product undergoes safety control and maintenance performed by an authorised service partner at least every 12 months according to this service manual made by Molift AS e Yearly maintenance and safety control must be performed within a maximum interval of 12 months and for the first time maximum 12 months after date of purchase or maximum 15 months after year week of production e Molift AS will cover the cost of spare parts and labour in the warranty period for all necessary re pairs caused by product defects that can be traced back to manufacturing The repair must be perfor med by an authorised service partner or at Molift AS own workshop during the warranty period e All warranty repairs must be approved by your Molift supplier or by Molift AS prior to the repair e The owner of the product is responsible for establishing the service agreement and the cost for the annual safety control and maintenance e The service manual has one page for every 12 months containin

19. ning it clockwise until it pops out will reset the emergency button It is possible to perform a emergency lowering if the lifter should malfunction This is done manually by turning the worm screw using a Umbraco tool Move the lifter to a suitable place to lower the per son Break the yellow seal on the top of the column and insert the tool Turn counter clockwise to lower the trolley will move slowly down Contact a service partner if the cause of the stop or malfunction is unknown or if a fault is discovered Using lifting slings The Easy lifting slings are as the name indicates easy to use They are washable at 80 C and auto clave at 85 C for 30 minutes AN It is recommended to use Molift Easy slings Slings from other manufacturers may have other specifications leading to unexpected instability and possible injury to personnel Torn cut frayed or broken slings can fail resulting in serious injury to the user Use slings in good condition only Destroy and discard old unusable slings A Page 12 of 20 Use of spreadable legs QR2 and QR2 It is possible to adjust the width of the legs at the front of the QR2 and QR2 this makes it easier to access lifting situations around chairs toilets etc The adjustment of the legs are done with the hand control and does not affect the stability of the lifter Lift and movement Lifting e Lower the lifting arm to the lowest position e Alternatively adju
20. of spare parts or accessories which have not been approved and unauthorised modifi cation or conversion of the product are not permit ted Molift AS will accept no liability for damages resulting from such acts With the exclusion of product liability Molift AS is liable for faults or omissions on its part within the scope of the warranty obligations stated in the purchase contract Claims for damages are exclud ed irrespective of the legal reason from which such claims are derived Only documentation belonging to the actual equipment is valid Any failure to comply with the safety regulations and precautionary measures stated in these operat ing instructions renders the declaration of conform ity supplied with the system in accordance with Council Directive 93 42 EEC concerning medical devices invalid Page 3 of 20 molitt QUICK RAISER Safety precautions General This operator manual is valid for all types of QUICK RAISER Use and operation of the variants are ba sically similar and any major difference is clearly noted in the text Before putting a Molift QUICK RAISER into oper ation the operator must ensure that the lifter and ac cessories are in good working order especially with regards to safety All instruction and information in this manual re garding safety and general precautions must be read understood and followed carefully Any disregard to these precautions may result in personnel injury or
21. re approved for 200 kg Recommended weight is only mentioned as a guide to choose the correct size Page 15 of 20 molitt QUICK RAISER Maintenance Daily maintenance Com Detergents must be pH neutral Do not use solvents or strong liquids this may damage surfaces on the lifter For disinfection when needed use isopropyl alcohol Avoid abra sive cleaning products Clean surfaces with a damp cloth using an appropri ate detergent Monthly maintenance e Remove hair and pile from the castors and verify that the castors rotates without abnormal friction e Verify that the contacts of the hand control and charger is firmly in place e Clean contact and hand control with spirit or similar to remove grease and dirt e Verify that the cables for the hand control actua tor and charger are intact e Run the lifter up and down to verify that it runs normally and without any abnormal noise Fault finding If you have access to more than one lifter it may be helpful to change parts across lifters to help identify any faults For instance if you suspect the fault to be inside the column exchange the column with at functional one from the other lifter to see if the prob lem is fixed Across you will find a table with fault finding proce dures to identify and correct faults on the lifter Page 16 of 20 Symptom Possible cause action Lifting column is Locking bolts are not prop wobbly erly secured or lifting colu
22. rtant that fully charged batteries are not charged without being used O The chargers have different ways of showing the status of the charging process e NiCd charger The charger has a LED indicating the status of the battery as described below Output No battery Initalization 10 sec 100 mA T It is recommended that NiCd batteries are placed in the charger when not in use Reg ularly each 10 times the battery should be used until the charging indicator on the lifter glows before charging the battery e NiMH charger The charger has two diodes a green and a red The red diode will glow as soon as the battery is placed in the charging unit and maximum charg ing current is applied The green diode will start to glow when the battery is fully charged and the charger switches to maintenance charging If the charger can t detect fully charged battery after about 8 hours a built in timer will force the charger to maintenance mode to avoid over charging Page 11 of 20 molitt QUICK RAISER Operation of hand control QR The hand control has two buttons up and down QR2 and QR2 The hand control has four buttons two buttons for movement up and down and two buttons for move ment of the legs in and out Emergency stop and lowering All of the Molift patient lifts are equipped with emergency stop and lowering The emergency stop will cut the power to the actuator and is situated on the chassis Tur
